Just discovered these. I think I’m going buy a set. Any reason why I shouldn’t?

from the thread I gathered you need

8” shocks. I probably go Fox DSC.
    Extended tie rod ends
Extended CVs. Looking at CVJ for those.

    anything else I’m missing?

the kit comes with the extenders for the tie rods if your 4wd you’ll need extended CV axles you can buy them already assembled or buy shafts and put them together yourself. The CV shafts are available on their site or you could buy them from all pro make sure they are 2 in extended cvs. You’ll need shocks i’m running King KRS-TC5119-03 with adjusters.

Well got in the new Long Field axles. They are beef to say the least. Also added JD fab inner heim tie rods.

Have a +2 axle (all pro) in good condition. No rips in boots. Just dirty. Would make a nice spare for someone. Asking $400 plus shipping.

IMG_3962.jpg IMG_3785.jpg Installed on a 3rd gen. Shoutout to OP for the thorough review. I followed for about a year before pulling the trigger. Followed AP instructions for install. So far I’ve jumped the truck a number of times and hit Ocotillo whoops at 50-60mph. I’ll link a video when I make it. I intend to use this kit for trails only in the future, but wanted to see if it could handle the abuse you’d expect out of an LT kit.

Issues I ran into during install:

-LCA bolt rubbing cv outer joint. I grinded down about 1/8” to match AP hardware. AP sent me a bad bolt so I have one All-pro and one from the DR kit. Yay. (I would still go with AP hardware for LCA specifically).

-I found the only difference from the 2nd gen kit to be that they have specific LCA bushing sleeves for the 3rd gen. I ordered the 3rd gen kit and the bushing sleeves were still the wrong bore size :). I had to bore out the sleeves with a hole saw to make the LCA bolts slide through.

-One LCA has grease fitting holes too small for the fittings provided. Still have yet to tap those to make them fit

-was unable to get my stock cv axles apart. Kinetic energy, nor band saw and press could save me. I wouldn’t waste your time or money here. (Sitting on two DR +2 cv axle shafts. Dm if you want). Went with Longfield axles.

    After test riding I found:

-UCA uniball bolts provided don’t hold when torqued to stock spec. They came loose on me twice on both sides after thrashing around. I retorqued to 90Ft-lbs and haven’t had an issue since.

-No integrity issues of the kit components.

    Note:
-I set 1.25” of preload driver, 1” passenger on king shocks. Limit straps set at 4.5” of down travel both sides”. UCA contacting shock body is still the limiting factor at this height.
-no issues with stock alignment specs
-paired with archive garage rear, 14” shock

Had a problem with all the holes on my grease fitting ended up having to tap them all and clean the threads.
