Looking at a 265/70/17 in either BFG KO, Duratraks or Nitto TG. Going to wrap around some MM 955 17x9 on a 2-3" lift. I do no offloading/4 x 4, so strictly for road/highway. Not a lot of hauling or towing either and live in FL. Near beach, so must perform good in hot weather and on wet/windy conditions. The more miles I can get out of them the better.

Wish I could go for some 275's, but don't think they will fit without some trimming (can't trim for now and local installer thinks the 265 is largest to fit)

So, going to get these in current GB going on, like to pick up next week. Looking for all advise based on actual performance of tire, not just because you think this brand is better then the other.

    Thx
    Scott

Probably the Nitto TG's out of the ones listed since they're reasonably priced and you dont need a more agressive tire for running only street. If you dont care about looks of an AT, look into higher mileage/lower resistance and better handling highway tires

I just went with BFG but for the $ and reviews I read maybe consider firestone destination at...check the tirerack ratings

Michelins will last you forever...could be the best value if you consider cost per mile driven...plus they will ride like a dream

Of your 3 selections I say..... BFG At ko

Yup, looking to keep some aggressive look to the truck. Currently running the stock rims/tires (BFG AT) and they run smooth and quite, just not big fan of their high cost, but can overlook if they will out last all others in mileage.

Thx for the inputs, keep them coming.

Alright, after some reading posts here, switching gears slightly. It would be better in the long run with highway all season tires.
I like the look of what's on it now (BFG Rugged Trail TA) and could stick with those for the new rims. Also looked at Michelin, but would like one that has similar look as the TA's. (never seen these up close).
I would really like to go up to a 275 size, but need to keep diameter around 32" to avoid the rubbing/trimming issue.

    Thx

Take a look into some "milder" all terrain tires in a p-rating. Examples could be the Hancook Dynapro ATM, Bridgestone REVO 2, or Firestone Destination AT. Since you do not offroad or tow/haul heavy loads The p-rating will save you some weight and hopefully keep your miles per gallon up. The passenger also tend to cost less than the LT versions. Good luck.

BFG is replacing the rugged trail with a 'rugged terrain' now. Check them out, seem to be getting really good first impression reviews by magazines

All I've run on my truck has been Michelin LTX A/T tires and love them. Will get 100,000 miles out of this set too. I've got 195,6xx miles and this is my second set of them. I love them. They ride great and last forever! Decent tire too for mild offroading.

Since you're pretty much just going for looks, I'd recommend getting a tire with small voids (the gap between the tread lugs) the tighter the gap= smoother, quieter ride, and slightly better mpg.

Recently put a set of the Hancook Dynapro ATMs on one of the work trucks, the sidewall has some aggressive looking stuff, and they're pretty smooth and quiet. Best part is you can get a set on the truck, out the door for about $550. Worth checking out.

No point in dealing with noise and rougher ride if you aren't going to benefit from it offroad, IMO.

Heard a lot of good things about DuraTracs but from what I've read they only fit up to 8.5" so might not fit your rims.

Nittos TGs are your best bang for your buck. I have 68k on mine now and they look like they can go for a while. I really don't like the look of them too much, the sidewall is boring, but they are good tires. I've taken them in sand, snow, hills, rocks, rain, and tow with them, they've performed well.

Im so biased. I love Michelins because the ride is so comfortable. Some look aggressive, but i really love the ride feeling.

I had decent luck with Cooper tires...the ATR is a good all season with some off road, but the Discover ST is an excellent tire for the money for an all purpose traction tire.

Thx for the pics, look nice and I know they are reliable, but fall into my category of 'looks like they belong on a car'. The smooth clean flow of the tread seems to take away from the effect of having a truck (just my opinion). May stick with the new BFG Rugged Terrain that are out now.

    Thx

Will the Duratraks work on the MM 955 17x9 rims?
Tire specs say 7-8.5 rim size?

The ATR is scheduled for replacement. The redesign is called the A/T3.

There is also a new ST MAXX being released this month, I'm not sure if its a replacement for the ST or a separate product. Both are contenders for when I get new tires. :D

Khumo SA/T... I put them on my truck because the General Grabber A/T 2's were on back order (also a great tire). Wow, I am a Khumo guy now. They have a really high tread wear rating, severe snow tire, ride incredibly well on the highway, good grip off road, excellent in the snow and very good in the rain. Oh and they are very well priced. I don't think I will put any other A/T on my vehicle.
