Mine sure behaves differently chained up. First time I did it I thought I was gonna break somethin’. Turned out it was the Ice Road makin’ the noise & not the Truck.

 

I've only had it on the trail chained up, I've never run it faster than @10mph on chains. And that was almost 4 years ago. Haven't needed them since I put the Duratracs on ... and now that Danny is retired and bought a dozer, I might never need them again.

I run mine at 32.

 

Mine are 28 frozen cold. Warmed up they go 30 up to 35 max off the highway.

 

It's amazing at the visual difference a set of tires with some knobby sidewalls makes to an otherwise stock truck. It's good to hear the feedback on their performance.

 

I passed on 2 5th gen T4R's last summer when test driving them, as the rear lockers wouldn't engage. It has always worked really well on my 3rd gen T4R. I used it more on my 2 week Colorado trip then the entirety of the rest of the ownership, but it is an absolute game changer when you need it.

 

I do believe I see 2nd gen off road 16's as the winter rollers?

 

Both my 3rd gens were Offroads and not once did I offroad it and need a locker. My SR5 has enough for what I need.

 

Good eye B3. They're still on ... had 'em blacked out when I went to the skinny duratracs and stuff.

 

Funny you mention that ... now that I commute in the Avalon primarily, first time I drove the truck to work after a long stretch I thought I had a wheel bearing or something making noise ... it was just tire noise on the highway. Also made me realize how rough the 5100s ride over the road.
