wouldn't be surprised if you have to buy new plastics to get the bolt covers so careful, rethink your approach....
Those a pillars are made of gold per Toyota's pricing, over $300+ for the 2.......
Not sure how well your covers will stay in place, after a ton of trimming so every time you grab the handle the strap doesnt pop the cover off...

    update pics??
    how did it workout?
    maybe im wrong....

I don't personally see a way those covers would work with the grab handles shown. Maybe if one drilled out the covers for the bolt, and used a longer bolt and washers underneath the cover...

I bought a set of A pillar finishers off e-bay as back up.
The covers will have to be hot glued back on. As I had to trim away one of the retaining clips.
You are right about the angle of the strap putting a side load on the trim cover. I have that sorted out.
    Pics coming soon.

When I was contemplating just getting a tacoma w/o the jbl I priced the pillar plastics, they were a fortune, even for the non jbl....
& you can even buy the jbl tweeter grills seperate from the entire unit.
So doubtful you can get those tiny covers w/o buying the entire unit, speculating....

Are there airbags in the pillars? There have been in several of my other cars. That handle might turn into a projectile if they deploy.

Did this install this past weekend. Went well.

It blends into / matches the interior much better in person than in the pictures. Very OEM in appearance, not ghetto.

    Sorry, wrong-O Keebler...
I just loosened and partially pulled out the A pillar cover on driver's side to run cable for a rear window dash cam. There's an airbag there...I'm thinking there's one in the same position on the passenger side, but not sure as I didn't remove that cover.
