@50Buck ah gotcha, I don’t have a sticker and didn’t remove it, might have to go talk to the dealer about that. Thanks for clarifying some stuff for me! I see you’re also in Wyoming, Go Pokes

Question. Can I disconnect and reconnect the negative battery lead to reset the disabled remote start? 23 TRD OR.

Disconnecting your battery won't hurt anything, so you may as well unhook both to be sure. How was your remote start disabled? Is it aftermarket or OEM? Push button start or actual key?

Just trying to get some extra info so people smarter than me might be able to give you a proper answer.

    Check build thread!
It's worth trying, but this is something that's a installed feature on every Tacoma from 2020 onwards, with push to start. Physical key'd trucks will not do it.

It stopped worked after I registered the used vehicle to myself. I do not subscribe to their service. It is the remote start OEM with my key fob. It has been disabled by Toyota. Fkn dks.

Thanks. I will give it a shot this weekend. I can't believe how cheap/greedy Toyota is these days. Ridiculous.

I have had the same issue. Tacoma no remote start. It used to work even after the trial period expiration. Today after reading about others having the same issue. I opened the app, which I rarely use. This screenshot came up. I clicked confirm. And low and behold now the remote start works. Press the lock 3 times, hold on the 3rd.

    Working on it!
Back to the Navigation. Car Play is a game changer, but I'd like to play around with the navigation. How do I access it?

It looks like you have the same model as me. Navigation is not built in (unlike the 2017 Mustang I also drive). You have to plug in your phone, assuming you have already paired your phone via Bluetooth. You need to download Android Auto as an app on your phone. When you plug in the phone in the dash port as if charging. Android Auto should connect. Then you have access to navigation on your screen. It's pulled from your phone. I assume Apple works the same.

You can get in truck to start the truck then close door then lock it with standard key. If you unlock and open door, it won’t shut down. Problem solved… that’s how I did with mine.

After reading this post, I tried it and was amazed that my truck has this feature. There is nothing on my window sticker or owners manual that would suggest I have remote start

I picked up my '21 TRD OR about 3 weeks ago, and was disappointed to find the key fob remote start feature described here didn't work for me.

Tonight I decided to try the remote connect trial on the Toyota App, and as part of the registration process, you receive and have to enter a 6 digit pin into the trucks navigation screen to authorize remote connect services. Immediately after doing that I tried the key fob remote start and it worked!!
The Toyota app is showing my trial is 'pending' with a message saying it may take 24 hours to become active. Will be interesting to see if the key fob continues to work long term after the trial has expired...

This is exactly what I had to do. When I bought my '23 Tacoma a couple of months ago, the dealer told me it had remote start. I got it home and a few days later tried it with no success so I called Toyota Connected Services phone number and the person walked my through the trial period signup, where I declined most of the agreements (I think there were 3 or 4 separate ones). You have to accept the Master Services agreement and the Remote Connect ; you can decline all the others (WiFi, Service connect, insure something). Once you do that and activate like @stielinc says with the code, you'll have remote start from both the app and the FOB (smartkey only, I believe). I never downloaded the app to my phone and my trial period has since ended; FOB remote start still works.
