I do hope something changes where you're at, for your sake (and co-workers)

 

I just want this crap to be over, my stomach is messed up and I have work I want to finish so I can leave

 

Man that sucks, a lot of people are getting sick all at the same time

 

I don't even know whats up with me, don't feel "sick" so much as like I'm not digesting anything and have acid reflux.

i got that as a side effect from my latest case of the vid.. been dropping weight like crazy for 2 weeks now

 

I don't think starting work based on assumptions is inherently bad, so long as...

1) Those assumptions are rooted in observable reality (in the taxi analogy, saying "drive anywhere" is no good by saying "drive downtown" might be useful while you figure out what restaurant you're meeting your friends at)
2) Everyone knows and agrees that they are assumption, and potentially wrong, and if the assumptions are wrong then any plan based on the assumptions must also be wrong (in the taxi analogy, you know that the original fare estimate is invalid as soon as you change the destination)
3) People actually accept a new plan after an assumption is inevitably wrong (the driver accepts a decreased fare if the destination ends up being closer than "downtown", or you pay an increased fare and accept a later ETA if it's farther)

The benefit to everyone is that you probably got to the restaurant sooner than you would have if you waited at home until your friends confirm where they were able to get a table.

But yeah, if not everyone understands the game and plays it in earnest it's a real bad time. Like taking a cab downtown and then when you get there your friends say "oh downtown was lame we went uptown instead and we're almost done eating now".

 

Nothing coming out of me though in any unexpected or different ways.
