I would, but at the moment there's nothing wrong with the one that's on there.

Have an appt for new tires tomorrow. At first, I had chosen to get Falken Wildpeak AT4's based on my experience with the AT3's, until I saw this video.

BFG vs Falken vs Firestone: Which New All-Terrain Is Best In The Snow?

Falken admits that the AT4 isn't as good in snow as the AT3, but TFL's results seemed way off to me. I hadn't seen anything to challenge the results, and changed my mind and settled on Goodyear Duratrac RT. I've had Goodyear Silent Armor (2 sets) on the Silverado for 20-ish years and that thing is beast in the snow. I expected similar performance from the Duratrac RT on ALF. I have been shopping for tires for over 6 weeks and my f'n brain hurts. I would have gotten Kenda Klevers, but they don't come in a 255/80 17. Mickey Thompson Baja Boss were at the top of my list, based on comments on the 4Runner Forum, but no joy in a 255/80 17 tire. They do come in 255/85 17 which means that a body mount chop would be needed. There's 2 guys on the 4R forum that put the MT 255/85's on their 4R and both had to do a BMC. One of them even had the 4R snowflake wheels like I have. Last night I saw the video below and decided to get the Wildpeaks. 6 of 'em. I'll need 2 spares for my trip to Alaska next summer. This video shows real world experience in the snow and that was good enough for me. And the Falkens are $50 a tire cheaper than the Duratracs. I have also stumbled on 2 other videos contradicting TFL's results, but those were in untracked snow. The vid below is exactly the conditions I am concerned about.

I’ve been running falkens (at3/4w, trail, aklimate) on everything and they are still by far the best all around tires I’ve found. I even have a set of aklimates on the grc which have exceeded expectations

How can you possibly take seriously a review where they are testing tires on freakin Jeeps?
Clearly the testers have zero credibility.

Make sure you leave about a finger clearance between bumper & fender.

Don't have those pieces any more anyway. Fender may be a bit tight-those Mc Neils are different than factory. Doesn't help that the minions are not paying attention to directives or even looking at what they are doing... Flucking ducky boogers they drive me nuts. It will be fine. I am okay with whatever, but the lack of listening skills is distressing. May do some cutting to allow for flex at the fender bumper interface... we shall see.

When I put my bumper on I developed a thump everytime I hit a bump, took awhile to realize my fender was hitting the bumper.

Never thought the front clip moved that much until.

I really like the new Duratrac RT, so far they are great in the snow and offroading, and pretty good on pavement as well.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Dave, I'm happy with my AT4 pizza cutters. They aren't quite as good as my Grabber ATx were in snow, but they are far from as bad as those clowns in that video show.

The first thing I noted in their video is that they are running all tires at the same psi. You can't do that with tires of different construction and expect them to perform at their best.

I hear ya. I enjoyed it while I had it, though.

    Late 90's early 2000's here.
Never got lower than the shoulders because the longer it grew, the curlier it got.
