Engines keeps going go to Limp Mode

I’ve got a volt reading of 5.03 volts at the t1 connector on pins 5 & 3.

Last report was a P2111

I can't easily export whole files or data from my source.

I would check all engine grounds

 

Guys I had the entire ecu wiring back probed and tested by a very well known electrical auto mechanic here in town. He wasn’t able to find a single wire that was shorting or bad. I then got the car into limp mode so he could check the throttle body through his scanner. What he noticed was the throttle body motor was not being opened to its correct position even at 8amps. It should only new a few amps to open it. We checked the mechanism and it open just fine it’s not sticky. I think that was just because it was in limp mode. But yea he noticed nothing wrong with the wiring. I’m completely lost guys. I could redo all of the tests myself but he assured me showing me all the flow charts he found online for the codes specified. I’m wanting to race this truck and I can’t have this stupid shit happening when I’m out thier trying to put down good times. The truck works soo well other than this stupid throttle issue. Please any further help chime on in!

 

Has the Throttle Body ever been replaced?
If the wiring is good, and there isn't a sticky spot in the mechanism.
Then I'd want to say the throttle body motor is bad or has an issue.

Of course, you want to be sure that's the issue.
But there's not much left if it isn't a wiring issue?

@Dm93 might know of a reason the motor would draw so many amps, yet not move.
But me? I'd say it's the TB motor, if there isn't an obstruction or sticky spot in the TB.

 

In short it shouldn't, no way a TB should take 8 amps to open.
Find a good used TB, Toyota TBs don't fail very often. Used ones can be found for $100 or less.

 

if you checked and confirmed the wiring, next step is replacing parts. Check TB motor resistance

 

Here’s the thing, I already replaced the old throttle body for this same reason a couple months back. It never solved the issue. I bought the new throttle body off a used truck and it was verified working. I think the logical reason why it wouldn’t open with a whole 8amps is because the truck was in limp mode when he checked this. If it’s in limp mode I’d assume the throttle pedal would still send a full signal to throttle body but since it’s limped out the throttle plate has another signal telling it not to open past say 30% regardless of how many amp were being given to it. I wish I double checked that reading once I flipped it out of limp mode to verify that this is what it was. I’ll go ahead and check the throttle motor resistance today.

 

Just checked resistance is at 004 on option 2000 with no decimal.

 

so the resistance is normal. how did you figure out that you need 8Amps to move the motor? did you apply the current at TB or at ECU end? TB should not care if there is a limp mode. ECU controls it.

Did you probe the wiring resistance from TB end to ECU end? See attached for some information on TPS voltages and resistances.

Do you have freeze frame data?

Did you check engine and ECU grounds? Loose, broken ground can cause weird issues and mess ECU driver circuit up.
