Haha. Park city ski patrol Union is on strike and Vail is responding in certain ways. It's starting to make bigger and bigger news. Especially with vails stock completely tanking.

I had no idea that the ski patrol had a union.

I was always under the impression that it was a bonus for hard core skiers.

No, not at all. Just that the people who liked to ski a lot would join the ski patrol so they could ski for free. Like it was a side gig, but not the main source of income.

ah. yeah. i think to some, yes. i know of someone who is a ski patroller in one of the resorts but that's definitely not his family's only income. but to some folks, it's the only income in the winter. and in the summer, they're off doing summer jobs.

Long-time patrollers are highly trained, skilled first responders. They hang it out there and risk a lot so resorts can profit. They deserve reasonable compensation for what they contribute.

Hey no worries. I know some solid mechanics and none of them had a recommendation besides the dealer. So unfortunately I’ll probably try that route.

Maybe it will turn out well... who knows? I had a turbo Subie that would run rough at idle and local mechanics replaced parts and cost me several hundred dollars, the result the car continuing to run rough. My wife needed to go to the big city for something and stopped in at a dealership, and the service writer called a mechanic over to consult. The tech reached in and put a disconnected vacuum hose back on a nipple... and problem solved. No charge, no waiting.

    Good luck...

Thanks man, I’ll take all the luck I can get.

It’s crazy how much a fresh set of eyes can help when fighting a problem for so long.
