ECGS does not wait 24 hours, nor do most/all mechanics and shops. Not saying that's right..

How come there is no recommended break in speed for a brand new Toyota truck?

If there is, no one does it and gear failure is never heard of.

The braak in procedure for new gears/diffy seems bull shit to me.

Have you compared them to Lextech by chance? I’ve been. Curious how they compare. So far I don’t have a single bad thing to say about Lextech. Top notch crew.

All I've had done at import pros was recharging my AC system after I replaced one of the hard lines. Not that I have experience elsewhere, but pricing seemed reasonable, and the guys were all great to chat with.

I just want a back up for whenever Lextech guy retires and I’m left hopelessly looking for a bang up Toyota mechanic close by.

Anyone got a recommendation for a UCA to push my caster FWD away from the firewall to clear the body mount?

Bilstein 5100 on the 3rd clip. Want to run a larger tire.

Heard the SPC was garbage, and the JBA pushes the caster AFT towards the firewall. Will this give the LCA enough movement to clear the cab mount on a larger tire?

currently running 265/70/16 and looking at a 275/70 or 285/70

I actually really enjoyed my SPCs. Had them from 2010 until last October when I put the long travel on. I swapped out the bushings and balljoints once in that time. They need replacing again, but I'll make you a hell of a deal on them if you're interested.

The SPC will move the top of your spindle wayyyy forward if you want them to. Their balljoints is larger than stock, and has enough articulation to handle extended travel coilovers.

Who produces Toyotas gears? Are they "run in" at the factory? It's a heat cycling more than "meshing the gears" as far as I understand it. To each their own with their investment.

Also there's no procedure on the front diff gears.

This all sounds dope but I don't wanna blow $1,000 on some UCA's that won't make it past 7,000 miles of on road driving lol

I believe Toyota laps the ring and pinion under load when the diffs are assembled. Very specialized machine is required for that. 3rd members built by ECGS or by me on the kitchen table are lapped with no load. Gotta give it some time and gradually increasing load to make up that difference. Once they're broken in, a proper loaded lap is established, reducing friction and therefore heat.

If any of you have a 12-15 tacoma and been wanting or thinking about a ARB front bumper. I've got one that's going to be delivered tomorrow, with the fog light kit and wiring harness, I'll make you a helluva deal, my lost will be your gain. I ordered it black Friday weekend and just now getting it. I'm going in a different direction is the reason it will be for sale.

Something significant has changed if people are only getting 7000 miles out of them before having to replace parts.

A set of their "ride" bushings, not the trash rubber ones, go for $50, and balljoints are $150. If you want to put the $200 in parts into these, you can have them. I was going to rebuild them myself and sell them for $350, half price of new ones, but if you want to put in the new components, they're all yours.

From what I read it was the ball joints causing most the issues to begin with
