I think apple has something already but I was under the impression it was pretty limited. I'd imagine with starlink/tmobile youd have full access to the internet.

    Let's do it!

Somehow, I feel like you're gonna talk me into the traverse, which I'm not doing!

One wrong step = death. Plus the added challenge of doing it at 13.5k'.

I could see myself doing it at some point. But you better be on top of your game.

I always like to remind myself that driving is probably as dangerous or moreso than most of my activities in the mountains. Plus there is the added benefit of being in control of where you go, where you out your feet, etc. That being said, I don’t think I would want to bail off a ridge like like LB-Blanca.

Just don't fall and you'll be fine.

If there was a truck width trail across that you'd do it.

I still have never done that trail. I would but I have a gig the 7th. So couldn't make it down in time.

Shame. Could do it but would be one hell of a grind. I'm taking the Friday and Monday off to make it easier. Camp nearby Friday night. White Crack Saturday, potato bottom Sunday, head home Monday. Hopefully weather is good, I've done white rim in late February before and while chilly at night wasn't uncomfortable.

Yeah I'd want to do the same. over 14 hour drive just to get there. Oh well, one of these days.

Would be fun - had a great time last time with ya! - but will be just back from 20° temps on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and looking to enjoy the shitty-but-slightly-warmer weather in the PNW, hahaha.

We did it in late Feb last time and I didn't find it to be too bad. Going a couple weeks earlier is hopefully not too different. It was the last weekend I could get permits for White Crack, the rest of the year was booked so I'll gamble in it being cold. But that campsite was too cool to pass up. Plus Shafer is open (I think it was closed last time) and I haven't been on that section in... 11 years?

It was interesting though, the NPS emailed me after I submitted and said that my vehicle was not an approved vehicle for that trail... Took a picture of said vehicle and some explaining that it is indeed 4x4 high clearance. Just hope everything goes well, I drop it off at the shop this morning with a lengthy service list in the old pig.
