    This is my business partner’s setup. I know it’s not a taco, but you can see that his carrier extends over his cab without any mounts there. Just mounts on the bed rack. He doesn’t have a tonneau though, and I’m not sure if these racks would work with one. He does have a Decked drawer system though which is pretty nice.

    Got some dry fly action this evening. Hit upper 70s here today and brought the fish up on winged ants (fire ants swarming maybe) and midges. Makes for a.very nice evening casting to rise forms from the dock till dark.

    Went to Scheels today to get the dog out of the house (its cold, and he is a summer dog). While we were walking around the fishing section we found some good deals on random ass clearance stuff.
    $9.99 each on these fly rod cases. They all used to have fly rods in them, guessing the rods were either stolen or broken.

    Thank you.
    Really enjoy wet flies. Setting the wings was so intimidating just a year ago, now its not too bad. Pretty neat how you can synch down end of the wing and still have it maintain that profile.

    Then a fish gets a hold of it.

    New old pflueger reel, silk line and old south bend bamboo trade rod yesterday evening. About a dozen fish and several good ones like this.

    Getting ready for April PA small streams. Such a difficult tie. But an attempt nonetheless.

    Which one? On the black caddis/cricket? Just wrap through the deer hair butts after the first wraps and it’ll help lock that wing on. On the quill body fly start with a single wood duck feather bunched, tied in extending over the hook eye then trim butts at a 45. Wrap butts down to leave a bump at the thorax. Stand the wing with some wraps on eye side, take your thumb and mash wing up and back to fan it, Separate into two bunches by grasping with your fingers and pull slightly to set them. Then figure eight wraps to separate into two wings. Take thread to bend of hook and tie tails in (I’d use a few more fibers because you want it stiff enough to hold the fly on the surface) then trim those butts at a 45 to mesh with wing butts. Tie in the quill, wrap it down with thread back to tail and thread back to wing. Wrap quill forward and tie off. Then tie in hackle behind wing, take thread to hook eye, wrap hackle and tie it off and trim, whip finish glue. That’s how I do it. I am also from the slim mayfly body school so I don’t make them plump. Pardon if you already know all that but those are easy ties after you get the hang of it. Those will catch fish as is. Good luck.

    @THatt
    I found a chart online that has some April hatches across PA, so I'm trying to add a few of these to my box.

    The Caddis (I guess) weren't too bad, although I didn't have black hackle to warp with, so I opted to leave it out.

    As for the Hendrickson, or some variation of that, I am working on this style dry fly for the fly of the month, BWO dry. So I decided to start here. Below is my latest BWO I tried last night. As for the tying sequence and steps, what you have is exactly what I do. Pretty much word for word as far as I can tell. Its a tough and technical pattern. I could def see how it could take a very long time, even years to get good at doing it. Anyway, Ill keep trying and work on improving it best I can with every attempt.

    Appreciate you feedback as always. Dan

    They will get easier. Proportions mean everything with Catskill style dry flies to make them sit properly on the water and not tip over on their nose or tail end sink etc. It was for this very reason, tying these type flies, that caused me to start hunting wood ducks. Then I found out how great they taste. You’ll enjoy fishing those. The most enjoyable fly fishing is with dries imo. Poetry in motion.
