Regarding poll, whatever. If I had the choice I'd pick a European country, so I could move there full time and buy a house without having to establish years long residency requirements beforehand.

you just need a pile of $$$$ and they will grant you citizenship

No, I don't know. Tell me more.

My understanding is one has to establish residency for x amount of years while working there before applying for citizenship. Then one can purchase a home. I've heard of rich elites (celebrities) buying property in foreign countries for second and third homes. I think Switzerland will take any multi millionaire or billionaire, but I haven't won the lottery yet.

There's also the loophole of having a family member/relative in a foreign country, but I think one still has to reside there for x amount of years before they can apply for citizenship. I think the residency term is shorter in that case though.

The marriage loophole works too. Marry a foreigner, move to said country.

As far as Canada, they used to allow US citizens to purchase homes without the prior residency requirement, but they stopped that a few year ago after the 2020 covid thing in hopes of allowing Canadians to purchase home first.

US will let just about anyone in. Mixed feelings about that, but whatever.
