Plugged my diode dynamics ss3 max fogs back in. And I gotta say, those paired with the Evo's (which I purchased through TRS as an add-on with the headlights btw) AND with the supercharged drivers!? Freakin... glorious. My spot beam aux lights(ditch location) don't hardly make a dent at all now and are basically useless.
(I've actually got lots more to do to the truck too. Including more lights. Have a 30" 5d led bar for the lower valance I've yet to install. And I'll be getting something for my rago roof rack as well once that goes up.:alien::cool:)

How high you are aiming SS3 Max fog? That's very high aim, much higher than low beam aim pointing upward acting as no hotspot wide high beam. It's just my occupational reaction, must advise make sure to use each light function when allowed and appropriate.

Yeah I haven't adjusted them yet. When I installed them I mounted them to be flush with the bumper and they are a little high. But the evos can probly be aimed a tad higher too. I adjusted those a little lower to play it safe and make small adjustments up as I continue to drive with them. Right now I'm using them with the high beams only with a Fleece all-lights-on module. But I do want to adjust them down and see how it performs to see if i can run them with low beams too. But even then, not sure I'd want to. They're insanely bright. Ha. They are SAE compliant tho.

I strongly suggest use lamp function correctly,
Since you said you are using as high beam, below may not directly apply, but if you call it as fog and wish to use as fog

    1. SS3 Max fog is not SAE compliant fog beam, photometric test failed with several samples Just because label says so, does not mean actually is compliant. The reason of failure is due to cutoff not distinct enough = can't be aimed, test get rejected. many think Max is tight beam, but per photometric evaluation, it is still only half of required cutoff sharpness. Considered as not "visually aim-able"
    2. Even with SAE compliant fog beam, if not aimed per SAE definition, it cause severe glare that has no difference to wrongly aimed low beam or high beam in use.
Word SAE fog only define beam has minimum characteristics allow to be used as fog lamp. Aiming is separate subject. Term SAE is label of minimum distribution character validation If not used per lamp function, it void any quality validation
    3. Fog beam only help when visibility is deeply bad, where low beam distance projection decay and only near field is visible range. Then fog beam help to illuminate ditch of the road.

If you are considering to use SS3 Max as fog lamp
It require 4~4.5 degree down aiming, since there is no visibly distinguish-able cutoff, only practical aiming way is to use "level-app" perhaps with your phone, use any flat referable front bezel edge of lamp, and tilt down lamp 4~4.5° downward. If any higher, it cause glare above SAE fog definition limit.
At this aim, you will most likely only see top 1/3 of the beam on the road from driver view, and primary only see beam spread to immediate side angle ( this is the actual definition of fog function)

4.5° down mean beam center to be 23.6' below lamp mount height at 25' wall. That is what is takes for SS3 max to be considered as glare free, fog application aim.
Which makes cutoff equivalent to 4" below lamp height at 25' wall. and no excessive scatter above horizontal line to cause fog driving difficult.

More detail about fog function shall be continued in J583 thread
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-led-sae-j583-fog-pod-fog-light-review.554813/

If you are strictly using as high beam, then it's up to you. You are seeing more because essentially you are using SS3 max as hotspot-less wide high beam overlay.
But do not use this set up on the road with other drivers around. 100%, glare immensely blind on coming traffic driver.

About aiming of XB Evo with SC driver, 2" down at 25' is essential. if fitted larger tires, wheels, or lifted, 3" down is needed. It's very high potent lamp. Must be carefully aimed. Aiming is not something you should do based on how it feels, it must be done with proper measurement. Because if affects other driver's safety.

Enjoy lighting with solid understanding and responsibility, you can maximize benefit of design better that way.

Oh for sure! When I purchased the ss3's, I fully intended to use them with high beam supplemental lighting and offroading/ditch lighting. That's why I got the Fleece module to pair with it. Again I'll adjust them down with the proper measurement method and see how it looks, but I will most likely not like that and will keep them higher and use them as I planned to as previously stated.. My lift and 33's/34's will be going on in a couple weeks so I'm just waiting till thats all done and will make all the proper adjustments with the Evo's.

I'll Also add to that, and say I'm not surprised the ss3 max's failed tests. There's no sharp cutoff and way too much spill (ie glare) for them to be classified as sae fog lights. I consider them to be offroad lights in the fog location. The sports or pros might be a better option in that case(haven't looked at those too closely). And to further add to it, I don't have a need for true fog lights where I live. We get fog maybe 2 or 3 days in the year and that's it. Some haboobs too during monsoon , might be beneficial to have amber fogs for that as well. But if I wanted true fog lights I probly would've went with the morimoto evos or d.d. elite's.

Ok, back on topic.. waiting for someone to post this. Lol..

so I am having the same problem, I got them for my SR. They’re sending me new resistors and but I just re-tapped into EFI number five because when I was in EFI number four, it blew the 10 amp fuse. I’m trying to figure out where I can tap it where it will work. I ended up putting a 20 amp with a 10 amp

Finally got the RMA processed for my Gen2's <3.

Now to figure out which ones they're going to send me and make sure it's the Evo's.

Evos are the equivalent. Hybrids are a less expensive option.

I got my XB Evo’s installed and I drool every time I look at them. They did a killer job with the design and the light output is pretty damn good with the standard DOT led drivers installed.

I also got the optional superchargers but I have not installed them yet.

    Duuude sweet rig!!

Superchargers are definitely worth it if you can spare the extra coin. At first it seems like they aren't much of an upgrade, until you flip the high beam on. Then you're like . That high beam increase is where it's at!
