    Random whining noise

Set my custom high idle to about 2k where the whining noise seems to be most prominent and you can hear it over the rest of the engine. I hear it while I'm accelerating in gear or blip the throttle as you can see. Don't seem to have any issues (TC light due to wrong clock spring without a steering angle sensor)

A/C lines still ice over, steering isn't stiff, and good throttle response. Been going on for about a month and I cannot seem to figure it out. In the past 3 months l've done a steer box, urd exhaust cam gears, and coolant flush. I don't think any of those would cause that noise?

    Anyways any input is appreciated!

Side note: that cheap hand pump is on my valve cover to heat up and hopefully prevent any hose kinks.
And yes I was using that freakishly long extension as a stethoscope of sorts

Remove the belt to see if the whining disappears. If it does, you can suspect a bad bearing somewhere. Just don't idle too long or you can overheat your engine and kill your battery. A minute will do no harm.

Thank you I will definitely give that a try! Also did my video(s) upload? I’m having trouble telling if they did or not

It was not at first but I now see a link. However, it opens to a random video. Could be me - I have the FB app but I am rarely on it.

Haha. No, it’s consistently of an excavator on the side of a steep mountain.

No, but what is odd is that on my iPad it now shows some DIY project. On my iPhone the link takes me to join the 2nd Gen Tacoma Headquarters.

Weird. It is posted under 2nd gen Tacoma headquarters but no worries if you don’t want to join. I got my belt off and the noise didn’t change

That rules out the belt and a pulley-bearing. You could have a vacuum leak, or something internal like a lifter, etc…

I doubt it’s a vacuum leak. Only thing I can really think of is something in the heads
