It’s a write off to support their non-biz Overland dreams with a 15,000lb vehicle.

Damn it! I’ve had an expensive week. I run a battery power Iceco frig for camping. Cold milk is money with a 3 yr old at the campsite.

Well I bought a Pecron battery & a cheap Chinese Amazon battery. Well, my Pecron just died out of the blue. It’s not even 2 years old & still under warranty for 2 months. But I know that’s a pipe dream. How the fuck do I throw away this piece of shit?

Long day at the shop, but cool things happening. First I stripped the ol 7.3 down to go back to the machine shop and loaded her up. Then what yall will actually be interested in: Hydro assist swing set steering prototype on a 2g. Utilizes a manual steering box and a 2.25” double ended hydraulic ram. Full hydro power with a mechanical connection. Got here 18 hours ago, and once the welds cool down we can finally do the final assembly

Very interested in the prototype. I'm looking to upgrade as well. These factory steering racks just aren't built for the abuse of larger tires.

Homeless are being proactive, looking for a warm place to stay. This was one of 7 I repaired today. They still didn't get in.

And this pic. Not sure if the strap is holding it up, holding it down or holding it together.
Never mind the open J box...
FACP room, door didn't lock after they placed a space heater in there, and the heater was stolen. Other side of the wall is the Judges Chambers.

Any recommendations of a shop in the Springs who can blast and paint/powder coat some cross bars and uprights? I have KBVoodoo Hi-rise cross bars that have seen better days. Would like to get them re-coated. Thanks in advance.

Curious what y'all think. I moved to the mountains last year from the front range and am enjoying life at ~8000 feet, however I'm getting sick and tired of my turd gen's transmission hunting for gears all of the time. I drive much further these days, and on steeper grades. Been toying with ordering 5.29s from ECGS but I'm hesitant to think that that will actually solve my frustrations with my 2020. I really don't have any intention of putting on 35s (currently on 33 skinnies), or doing much more to my truck. I just use it to haul crap around, drive to snowboard at Monarch, and occasionally go on a long haul camping trip/visit friends out further west.

Anyways just curious what folks think, is a regear worth the time/money. I feel like my real solution is to get something with a turbo/SC or a MT so I'm actually in control.

Edit: the most weight I carry is camping gear, my wife and dogs. No sliders or winch, aluminum engine and transmission skid.

5.29s with 33s will be a nightmare, maybe 4.56 but I don't think that will solve your issues. Have you considered a tune?

Yeah forgot to mention that, I have the OTT tune which helped a ton in Longmont, but being 3k feet higher and she still struggles to pick the right gear.

Was wondering if 5.29 would be too much on 33s, some people in the mega thread say its fine, others say the truck screams at high speeds. I feel like I know the answer…

Clutch replacement on the old girl today. Pilot bearing was stuck on the shaft. Super fun wrestling match.

My guess, the strap was pulling the pipe together when some hack replaced or added that ball valve. It's apollo and all the rest are nibco. Real abortion of a solder job too

The guys at Mountain Yotas told me that they were installing 5.29s in stock 3rd gens with no complaints. Maybe call them up and get their opinion.
