Hey Lunch table Crew...

I haven't been having any problems with the truck, but with the nice weather I've been thinking of preventative maintenance. Would it be worth it to rebuild the brake calipers? It's never been done, though I go easy on the brakes (last set of pads lasted 10 years).

 

I haven't been to CES in a hot moment; last I went was when I was still reviewing consumer hardware some maybe 10 years ago (omga I'm old). Soooo many parties and going places "jeans" weren't allowed. lol.

 

I've rebuilt calipers on different cars, and it wasn't worth the hassle. I just put new rebuilt calipers on.

On the Tacoma I used it as an excuse to install the 13WL Tundra calipers.

I only got to one party, but it was a good one. A vendor (AI of course ) put on a reception & viewing at Sphere. Private entrance, free food, & upscale open bar, afterparty and a private elevator up to our seats. According to the ushers, this is the best seat in the house. I'm not generally the lucky type in Vegas, but scored big on this seat. Especially cause it was free. Most of the reception didn't even come up to watch the movie (a Postcard from Earth). If you haven't experienced this place yet, put it on the list.

 

I think a good question is what is the cost to rebuild vs getting new calipers or refurbs. Also, there is the highly popular tundra brakes upgrade, it bolts right in place and as long as you don't have clearance issues with the wheel, is a nice upgrade.

 

After a quick check online, the caliper overhaul kit is $30. New calipers are around $320. I have 15" wheels, so I won't be doing a Tundra upgrade anytime soon.

Just starting with some basic calibration prints to start. This thing is printing gems right out of the box though, pretty happy.

 

Yep, that's one of the things I hear most about Bambu printers.

They're truly meant for those just wanting to print right away.

 

At $30 and you want an excuse to enjoy the weather and turn some wrenches I'd do it

 

Whats everyones welding cart look like?
Been thinking about designing a new one. The cheapo HF cart this welder came works fine, but quite a bit more flexy than I'd like

I dig the handles on it, that's something I definitely wouldn't have even thought about

Pretty sure I'd spend more than $25 just getting that bottom plate, I was leaning towards a square tube frame and plywood shelves/levels to save some $

 

Only came out so cheap because the steel used was all left over from paid jobs.

I only paid for the chain, the handle bar grips, plastic end caps for the square tubes, and two wheels. This is when I drew it up real quick and cut it out on the table after my other welder arrived -
