When I used to visit my cousin, the 24 hour stuff really helped otherwise I sneezed non-stop.

It's only later I learned that it's more or less the cat (or species?) itself that leads to them having more or less dander or w.e.

For example, @eon_blue cat Harley is like a dog and anytime I went to his house Harley would just come up to me asking for pets. Never once made me sneeze.

I know your cats remained hidden but my allergies didn't go off once either at your place.

Siamese like Coconut are supposedly hypoallergenic
My gf is 'allergic' but its only an issue if she rubs her eyes after petting the nut

    That's cool

Does your cat sleep on the bed or couch with you guys? Wonder if that's enough to set your gf off

In the bed every night, if she tried to sleep on her pillow/face it'd probably become an issue lol

I am allergic too and have to take precautions. We vacuum often, Amber brushes them a lot when I’m gone and we keep a sheet over our pillows when not in use. Generally speaking though the longer I’ve lived with them, the easier it gets. So worth it.

    @time623

Back to the welder cart, I should mention that's only 16 gauge and it holds a 60lb (empty) welder easily with a 33lb spool in it.

The "pad" where the bottle sits on is also 16 gauge and that's a 60 or 70lb bottle?

Would you go any thinner than 16ga if you reinforced it?
Not sure at what point it just becomes too difficult to work with and such

I'm sure you could if you sandwiched two pieces together but that's too much work.

A 4' x 8' of cold rolled 16 gauge runs for $55. You won't need anywhere near as much so you could just buy a 4' x 4' or something.

Bandido and I pay the same price for 3/16" mild steel; I'm in CA and he's in KY so I doubt you'll be off by much.

Is that screenshot for an online distributor? I'd never buy steel online. Always local!

    I get you.

Depending on how small your welder is, you can just create a rectangular frame and then add a crossmember in the center.

How cheap are you trying to get

Maybe ask some HVAC or roofers to give you their left over scrap. Careful welding galvanized though! Do it outside and wear a respirator.

Its a franchise, Metal Supermarkets. Mainly use them just because they're website can actually quote on the fly vs everyone else where I have to submit a request and wait a week.
And they charge by the inch which has been nice to avoid the high material cost to get started on smaller projects, but has been getting expensive to keep going..

You don't have a place you can just walk into, say "I want this" and take it home after paying?

Thats how I treat this place lol, I knew it was more expensive but didn't think I was paying like 3x.. I think their sheets and plates are worse than their tube though. Maybe because they have so much more loss/scrap on custom sizing plates/sheets
I have a couple other options like Industrial Metal Supply, theyre just not as close and more intimidating. This place is pretty specifically targeted towards hobbyists who don't want to deal with buying full-length stock

I don't think my cats are hypoallergenic, one of Monica's friends has to take drugs before she comes and visits. I'm hoping the lack of pine pollen falling on the dogs will help this spring.

Well, it's better now that you get acquainted with what's around you and not be intimidated

Not everyone is a pro and has their own business, so shops shouldn't treat you any differently really unless they specifically cater to large bulk orders then they'll just say "we have a minimum of..."

But if you're gonna start taking on projects and work, you need to bring your costs way down.
