AZ gets gas from CA and possibly TX. I get mine from Costco and fast food. :burp:

Circle K is Texas Gas and the rest are Cali mostly. Probably some exceptions in there. Not sure about Costco.

I ran into this with GM where the dealer first pretended not to know about the warranty on the particular engine (despite my truck being within the regular powertrain warranty anyway) and then when that hurdle was crossed said it's $6000 and they changed their minds, cash up front only. I had a relative who worked for a GM dealer at the time doing body work who told me they lose parts markup and over $30 an hour on labour, when I fought this with the main office and dealer I was told by one dealer there's no difference despite what I was told and another said they lose money and aren't there to give work away, said "call the manufacturer" which is GM. Yeah, FOH on that one.

I'd suggest upping the ante.politely of course, but bring a bunch of friends with you next time you go there for this issue.

Still pretty sure they have no pics or proof of this fuel line bullshit either

At some point, it makes sense to cut your losses, and just get the problem taken care of yourself.

    1. How much would lawyer fees cost vs. the repair? (Assuming you'd need to sue them to get them to cover the work under warranty).

    2. Do you want these idiots messing with your truck more?

    3. Time is money (whether we like to admit it or not). What's happened up to this point is irrelevant now, but how much longer are you willing to spend waiting to get the truck fixed?

    And that's where I am.

When the warranty expired on the wife's 2021 Supra (still only 12k miles on it) we stopped going to Toyota and started going to a local mechanic that is Toyota and BMW certified since that car was a blend of the two. They have only had to do some basic maintenance like oil changes and brake fluid replacement (required as per maint intervals) but seem to be 1/2 to 2/3 what Toyota wanted. Plus they are closer by a magnitude of 9x.

Calling today to get an estimate on diagnosis. Would like to provide them with an official write up from Toyota but again Bell Road specializes in making documentation disappear. All I got yesterday was my keys and truck. No paperwork because it wasn't ready yet. Even though the truck sat for 4 days on their lot.

I also went to pull the dash cam footage and guess what. I have video of me taking the truck and driving home and nothing else. Everything was wiped from the camera. The SD card stores about 14 days depending on how much driving I do and there was nothing. Makes me wonder if that was where the truck was "getting pictures made" that I couldn't go back and see.

I'm done with Toyota Service. Even if they are 110% correct on the diagnosis the way they handled this is all wrong.

The Apple tag was a brilliant idea, BTW. And the camera. Seems dealerships are forgetting how empowered the public can be to sniff out their BS.

So Toddles McLiarpants made that fuse/tap claim when it is so flagrantly easy to debunk? The wiper fuse is two full slots away from anything ECU related? I know you posted that other diagram, but I wanted to see what the actual labels on the box were. Unsurprisingly, totally different from my 2015.

Todd is a really shitty liar.

I'd still like to find him and reach out to see what his issue was at Toyota. I wonder if he's local or if he's got beef with a different Stealership. But I'd have a beer with him just to hear his story.

So would we! A noble cause for the better of the community and demise of lying liars and the other liars that enable them.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would fool around with a dealership for a month or more, but thats just me.
I must have the only Toyota Dealer that isn't a creep and videos the service bays. I questioned them on rotating my tires
one time, and they had video to show me. Parts of this story dont track. Good luck.

Not sure how much of a deep dive they can do in regards to your issues but I've been using them
since day 1 ( or rather every 5,000 miles ). If nothing else they are straight up and honest. Sometimes
they seem short with you but that's only because they are absolutely swamped with work. I guess word
    gets around.

It's a bit of a drive for you I know, if you decide to check them out give them a ring first to see if they can help with anything.

Oh when I picked it up the pic he showed me is inside the cab. Poor Todd doesn't know under the hood from inside the cab. And there was no fuel line in his final explanation - just the fuse tap, into the wiper fuse. That's it.

Are you the only person without a fuel line running across the top of your dashboard?

How did you think the mileage was calculated? The gas line comes in behind the dashboard, and runs over a little paddle-wheel to measure the flow, then drips from that into a funnel, and then back to the engine. At least that's what my dealer's mechanic told me when I complained about the smell of gas in the cab.

It's been a month and a half since OP started this thread; not sure where you're getting year from (unless there's another thread I'm missing).

I had to go back and look, it seemed like this thread was older....maybe I was thinking of another thread? Although, I did hear once that a sure sign of insanity is a distorted sense of time.....would I know if I was insane? Probably not.

All this saga gives me is more evidence that Toyota is a dying brand :/

This trend is not new, but this is evidence it is not slowing. Sad.
