what? TW peeps are awesome. I've been known to do random favors for members, send care packages, TW express hand offs, personal tour guide service for vacations. We're a disfuctional family but we're still family here!

heven't done an update in here in a while so here we go....
    quilting season is upon us!
did a bit of an upgrade this year and finally got a new machine. i'm a bit scared of it - its very fancy and expensive - but i'm getting used to it and love it so far
    IMG_4296.jpg
made this as my first big project
    IMG_4203.jpg
and then this - its supposed to look like a mountain range
    IMG_4297.jpg
i've been playing around with different color combos and couldn't find exactly what i had wanted but i'm still happy with the navy/grey/peach combo. this was what i originally wanted to do
    upload_2025-1-1_11-28-18.png
and then i found parts and pieces of a project i had started but neer finished so i dove in head first and got this done over xmas break last week. i had come across an idea on pinterst a few years ago for a camper themed sewing machine cover. i redesigned my own version and had everything bought and partly made to fit my old machine. then i gave up and set it aside. i had to redesign to fit my new larger machine but it has turned out way cuter than i was expecting. so glad i didnt finish it before - it would have been too small to use now and i think my old machine never would have been up to the task of doing all of the detail quilting and stuff.
something like this was the original inspiration
    upload_2025-1-1_11-26-22.png
    IMG_4289.jpg
I've got a few more details to add but I need to make a run to the store for the supplies. Super happy with how this turned out.

So, obviously had made this "today" but we closed in our garage and are making it into a din. We've completely redone ceiling to floor, wood stove, shiplap etc. I did hire a guy to frame in the garage door openings and he rehung the siding, and he framed up a wall to hide our deep freezer, safe room, and water heater, but me and my wife have done everything else ourselves. Sleeper Couch and loveseat showed up today. I have like 15 pics, but they are taking forever to load... Sorry lol. I've still got a few pieces of trim to put down, but it's basically done, until the wife wants something else... Oh and we need a TV in there

I like it. Wonder what it would look like with different types of wood laminated and then the grooves cut across the lams?

More new things. I was feeling like my old sewing machine was holding me back in what sort of projects I could do. Old machine was a champ and never really gave me any trouble but it was getting to a point that it was only really good at sewing straight lines. So new machine, new things. Never done a proper appliqué pattern before. Basically cutting a bunch of tiny fabric shapes and then gluing them together. To finish you need to sew down all of the edges. Never would have don’t this on my old machine.

Be kind. The last time I built one was maybe 25 years ago.

For your viewing pleasure. Sorry, no glamour shots yet.

Now you need to build yourself a new computer! That one's gonna be tied up with minecraft and youtube now.

The first PC game I ever played was the original Doom. It and II were the only games my dad owned.
