Check service records on Lexus owners page and id run a carfax if you’re serious about it. If they’ve fixed the valley plate it SHOULD be done by a shop as not very DIY friendly.

Check the frame up and down for rust.

Don’t see any interior photos. Driver seat is prob trashed.

personally I’d look for a 14-16 in the low 20’s and mod it to your liking.

Valley plate has not been done. Interior looks pretty good from the pics I’ve gotten. Truck has been a a Texas/Alabama/Tennessee truck. Seller claims rust free. More pics getting uploaded soon/tmr.

Wouldn’t by any means say I’m seriously pursuing this one, or any GX specifically. Just looking at cheaper (sub $20k) but reliable (see also Toyota/lexus) truck or SUV to own for the next 3-5 years. Can’t be a 4Runner as the wife doesn’t want me cramping her style.

I’m open all info on the GX platform in general. What makes the 14-16 more desirable? I also have no clue if the sellers asking price of $17k OBO is good/bad/ugly?

So a bunch of follow-up questions. Trim? Does it have AHC? Factory hitch?

We can’t give you all the answers. Take some time to read and learn.

the 460 was 80% unchanged from 2013-2024. Most of the updates were cosmetic, interior, and some safety stuff.

    Interior/undercarriage pics loaded.

Aside from the coolant valley repair having not been done (seller states no sign of need yet) it’s appears well kept.

What’s the best way to visually inspect for the coolant valley leak?

    Looks good.

you have to get up under the truck and look for signs of coolant leaking. If it hasn’t gone by now you might be good, flush out a gallon of coolant at every oil change to keep things fresh.

Did you buy it? Says sold.

    Form follows function
When you find one also look for coolant leak anywhere on the timing chain cover, these leak there also. If just under the water pump then not as big of a deal, it’ll just need a new water pump. Also ask how frequently they changed the coolant. These engines’ head gaskets don’t like very old coolant per Car Care Nut on YT. Lastly, mine had an oil leak between the transmission and the transfer case from a faulty seal, really my only problem in 70k miles.

I’m gonna one of those “ people “ for a min. Been working hard getting a YouTube channel off the ground. Been in the works for a while and the main reason I haven’t been as active on here as I used to be. It will be Camping, backpacking, gear reviews and of course GX content. If y’all wouldn’t mind subscribing to the channel it would mean a lot and help me out a ton.

I consider all of y’all friends and thought it wouldn’t hurt to mention it.

    thanks y’all.
