Took it to supercross today.

 

Torquing the crank bolt... My torque wrench only goes to 150 ft/lbs. I got it to that and then used a 18" breaker bar with an extension and maybe got a little more movement but idk if it is even possible for me to generate the 210 ft/lbs of torque or whatever it is. No loctite. Thoughts? Send it? ensure torque spec?

 

150 is pretty far from 210. I'd be more comfortable getting to a known closer value for something like that. Options:

1. You could head to Napa/O'Reilly/etc. and see if you can rent one for free...My local O'Reilly rents a 250 ft-lb version. Now, how accurate a rental torque wrench is, is questionable, but it's probably closer than 150 ft-lbs.
2. You can get a gearwrench for about $100, which isn't nothing, but isn't that much money (and a reasonably good wrench).

 

I made some progress on my truck.

I installed my BTF lower control arms, ADS shocks, Total Chaos lower ball joints and heim steering.

Still waiting on the correct lower shock bolt. Then I will mount my limiting straps and get an alignment.

I like the looks of the btf arms. I'd run those if I'd had the option back then.

 

It looks like the geometry adds a slight lift. Nice.

I like split-beam style wrenches for the better-eat-your-wheaties ones. Granted, almost definitely overkill for the shade tree mechanic/DIYer but it's fun to have an excuse to buy new tools.

 

Possible. They just have a slimmer design I think compared to solos and TC ones.

 

Not to ramble on about torque wrenches but wanted to mention Precision Instruments. Rumor has it they're a decent and reliable brand.
