Interior light questions 97

My 97 has never had the low gas light turn on no matter how low it gets . All main dash cluster lights are not working (Speedo,heat gauge ext ) warning lights at the bottom still work . Also lights for center heat defrost ext turn on and off turn on when I bang the dash but now seen to never turn on . I checked fuses to the left of steering wheel everythings good. Looking for advice before I start to disassemble entire dash .

 

I assume the 10A Gauges fuse is good?

With the key on, Engine OFF

Do you have a parking brake light on when you press the E-brake?
Is there an oil pressure light?
Seat belt Light?

Does the Check Engine Light come (remember engine OFF, but key full on)

We need to see where the power failure is.....

 

That seems enough information to trace it to a common point in a wiring diagram.

 

Battery, oil ,E brake ,seatbelt ,check engine ,and what gear it’s in light up just no light from all 3 main cluster gauges, and no light for heat and air center dash trying to upload pictures

 

I have an 00’ Base 4wd (18 Gallon tank) and have NEVER had the low fuel light come on in my 5 years of ownership. Even when below E and fill-up took 17 Gallons.
Per post #10 in this thread, non-tach trucks may not have come with the lights from factory.

When you have the instrument panel out far enough to get to the harness's I would push the retention clip and pull just enough to unseat the connector and with the tab still pressed push it on and off 4 or 5 times to "clean" the contacts... it is what, 27 years old?

 

Vlintorez Thanks bro my 03 definitely has it but my 97 has absolutely no options so it would make since that it doesn’t have a gas light in the first place .
Glamisman Absolutely dash is already halfway disassembled from installing new stereo. I’m thinking spray connector with detox ?

 

I have a 2000 and it did not come with a low fuel light but I have a tach. Oddly it does have a low washer fluid light, because priorities.

 

It probably doesn't have one, that truck in the picture is super base model, doesn't even have a clock haha. My 96 LX 4x4 doesn't have a low fuel indicator or the required sensor in the tank either
