2007 DCSB SR5; I found this truck on the wholesale lot at CarShop, assuming that it ended up there because of age and/or mileage. CarShop had a mint low mileage 2003 or 2004 AC TRD a few years ago, so age and mileage are not always disqualifying factors. As I looked closer, I noticed that the emissions test sticker was good through December of this year, while the safety inspection sticker had expired last month; I immediately looked at the frame and realized why this seemingly decent older Taco had failed state inspection. The frame is far from being the worst I’ve seen, but it’s clearly original and looks worse than mine did before replacement. Being a 2007, the frame replacement period ended in either 2018 or 2019, and the owner had little choice but to trade it in. I also was able to confirm that this an SR5 and not a TRD Off-Road because it does not have a diff locker button; I hope that somebody buys this truck at wholesale and fixes the frame, because it seems to be in decent shape and well cared for otherwise. On yet another note, this Taco was sold new at the same dealership where my dad bought my truck, which happens to be next to door to CarShop!

My dad bought my 2010 RC 5-lug brand new in September 2009 with 20 miles on it. After negotiating the price down and traded a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder, the final price was just under $15K. He put $2K down and financed the rest through Citadel at 0.9%; I don’t know for how long the loan was supposed to be, but he paid it off in like three years.

This is a 2011 AC SR5 for pretty much what my dad paid for a brand new base model RC in 2009, but with almost 150K on the clock!

Yet another victim of frame rot; I found this 2011 DCSB SR5 on the backlot at CarShop two months after finding the red 2007 DCSB at the same place. Both inspection stickers expired in January 2025, which doesn’t necessarily mean it failed, but the frame of this truck was rough to say the least; 2011 means that the recall expired in either 2022 or 2023, depending on when the truck was first sold and titled…
