What MPG do you get running 265/75/16 load E tires? I see people on the internet claiming they get 20+ still. I get 18mpg highway and about 14 mpg city driving. I have ko2’s in this size.

Many Taco owners try to brag about how great their MPGs are. Usually it's only for a portion of a tankful when they've been driving for a while on a level or downhill stretch.
What matters is your PER TANK MPGs because that's what you're paying for. Calculated MPGs are the most accurate (total gallons at fill-up divided by total miles since previous fill-up).
    Winter fuel gives poor MPGs.
The first few miles of driving from a cold start always gives poor MPGs. Especially in cold weather. MPGs improve once the engine & tranny are up to optimal operating temperature.
Driving style/habits can greatly impact MPGs. A heavy foot can really have an adverse impact. I get the best MPGs at 50 MPH after reaching optimal operating temperature and driving like there's a egg between your foot and the pedal.

I never check my mileage, but loved my C Load 265/75/16 Duratracs. Knock on wood, I never got a flat off roading. As much as I like my E load Wildpeaks now, I will go back to a Duratrac in the future.

I’m on 285’s now but when I ran E rated 265’s I would get 20-22mpg average on the highway depending on traffic. 18mph average around town. On long cross country drives I would get around 24mpg going through the flat parts of the Midwest.

How many miles were you getting on the tank?

For which of those situations? Cross country drives I got a lot farther on each tank than just around town.

I maintain a spreadsheet for recording the costs associated with my vehicles.
The graph I created from the MPGs calculated at each fill-up.
    Easy Excel workbook.

Are we talking the trip everage or the tank average?

The numbers I gave in my first post were trip averages.

I figured. To get a tank average close to those numbers is not possible on heavy and AT tires.

The tank averages were the same for what it’s worth.

I used to get those numbers on P 245/75/16 (attached).
Once I switched to Falken Wildpeak AT in the same size (39 lbs a tire + 25 lbs the wheel) I never seen my tank everage going over 20.
Last summer I switched to 265/75/16 Rubitrek SL (43 lbs heavy) and lost another 2.

Good on ya for writing more scrunchy than I do, or even can. It takes me 3 or 4 lines in my 3 by 5 notebook, sometimes more. I'll occasionally add a comment like "windy as hell."

I have a 2inch lift, sliders, DCLB and live in the foothills/mountains of Va. I am running 265/75/16 Falken ATW4s.
    Interstate above 70mph 17mpg
    Hwy below 65mph 18-19mpg
City mostly short drives 14.5-15 mpg

these are all based on the truck computer-I haven’t taken the time to calculate by hand.

I see folks claiming 23+ on FB but I’m not sure how but who knows.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
    I’m on 265/70R17 C-Load tires

15.5-19 mpg highway going 70 mph

    10-14 mpg city

^Those are going off the truck’s computer

I usually get 16-18 mpg mixed. Hand calculated.

I just have steel rock sliders and a hard tonneau cover weighing my truck down (approx. 300 lbs). My truck is still on the stock 4.30 rear end (gearing).

Those using the truck computer only, for their average mileage and not doing the math at fill ups... Understand, the computer is reading based on averages, speed, load, distance to "empty" it isnt exact. It gets skewed pretty easily especially, if you do extended hypermiling, or lower speed consistent driving, that nets higher than average mpg THEN, on the same tank, trip, you hammer down on highway, your distance to empty will be skewed not in your favor, it will say you can go further but, your gauge needle will be closer to empty, than what you know you can go before another refuel. That is not the time to "push the limits" of how far you can go on a tank, you will be pushing or walking.

For me, (under normal driving), when the truck gets to zero miles left of fuel, I can usually still go approx 20-30 more miles with the gauge saying, refuel soon, yes I have done it, no my fuel pump didnt suck up a bunch of crap at the bottom and fail. They put a "buffer" in so our dumb asses dont solely rely on the distance to empty. But, as I said above, if the needle doesnt match the distance to empty, giving you that buffer DONT TRY TO PUSH IT, GET SOME FUEL. Ski
