Carfax says it went off the road and got damage to the left front, which likely included the front bumper…

 

I kept up with coolant service on my truck and the head gasket blew at 157K…

 

Stuff happens.
Things will, and have, happened to mine too.
I just hope it all the things that happen I can fix myself.
If not, I’ll reevaluate my situation and see what make more sense financially.

 

The frame replacement was paid for by Toyota ($15,000-$20,000), the head gasket job was a Christmas present from my parents (just under $5,000), and the transmission I paid for the new transmission ($2,417.20). My truck is worth just $7,000 but with all that work I’ve basically got a new truck, so if the engine goes I will replace it before I get a new truck!

 

As of now, I’m all original everything.
Except wheel bearing……..

I thought that “LIBERTY” was the name of a dealership where it was originally sold, but the logo appears to be from a Jeep Liberty…

 

This is how I figured out how many miles it had…

 

Needs a good detailing, but otherwise not in horrible shape for being 12 years old and having almost 200K miles!

Yet another find on the wholesale lot at CarShop; 2005 Highlander that appears to be in decent condition aside from a dent in the back bumper, but hasn’t been inspected in over a decade. The inspection stickers expired in October 2024, which means that the vehicle was last inspected sometime in 2013; I’m guessing it just sat for years and/or was left to a family member after the previous owner died, and they decided it trade it in…
