More snow here. Was out early this AM. Salt and brine ... If you stare at the picture long enough my truck will rust before your very eyes .. a hot water pressure wash is in my near future.

5 years, So far so good. We will see about this year. I've been using Mavcoat and it's been keeping everything protected. I'll spray underneath later this week and crawl under there in the spring to address any potential issues before it's too late.

I learned a lot after 2 first gen frame replacements....

Kinda cheating since I did it yesterday at half time during the Eagles win (go birds)...

Installed pro style taillights purchased from CariD. $135 for the pair before tax and shipping. Easy install, reused factory bulbs even though the new ones came with bulbs; figure I'll just hang onto them when the factory ones eventually burn out. Subtle difference from a distance but I like them much more than the stock ones, and I like how they look with the black decals on the bed:

Yeah. It's gotten pricey here, but I'm sure we're not close to Socal.

Don’t know if this is true, but I heard or read somewhere that using warm or hot water to wash/rinse a salt covered vehicle is no bueno. Something about the warm water activating the salt and causing it to migrate to tight spaces.

The only way that best dissolves salt, chemicals and crud off a vehicle exposed to bad winter conditions is to use warm water. Cold will not do it. Best wash is a self serve hand wash place.

I did a similar taillight swap and like the results (the LR color just begs for black IMO; for other truck colors make your preferred choice of black or chrome). Now that you have the shiny silver out of the taillights (chrome out/black in), your bumper will look sharp if you match it. I used plastidip (it's doing great after 2.5 years in all weather conditions); other owners get covers for the bumper caps.

What power inlet is that on your truck? (factory or aftermarket, link?) How 'waterproof' is it?

One of you Canookies left the barn door open, and it's freezin' us out down here. Now I gotta add heat. Cold Tacos suck!

How cold are you? Mine is happy to -10 F at least. I'm not happy that cold so I kick myself for forgetting to use that super handy remote start feature.

Been tempted to go with them for the price. Wondering how well they’ll stay sealed over time. Let us know!

Will do. I’m curious how long until they show some condensation inside. If I get bored one day (or if I see the seal is compromised) I’ll probably end up tinkering and attempting to reseal.

Either way, will be sure to share here.
