My daughter will be driving my truck Thursday. She absolutely lost her mind when she saw it today: no grill or bumper. She was like what happened to it and when is it getting fixed. Goodness! I painted the bumper today and the minions will have it back together tomorrow. Worry not; but, you better go park in the back with the Marengo boys so they see how bad ass you are...

 

Anyone know anything about repairing electric ovens? My ex-MIL called that her oven quit. I went to see what I could figure out. The temperature probe ohms out good, and the element has continuity, though I didn't feed power directly to it to verify it does heat up. All of the burners on the stove work, as does the broiler. Much of what I've done, including watching a couple of videos, is pointing at the main board, specifically the oven relay, which I noticed didn't click when I turned the oven on.

She obviously doesn't want to shotgun parts at it just to find it costing as much as a new one. The temperature probe can be found as a generic replacement for $16. The element, doesn't appear to be readily available as an aftermarket, Frigidaire's cost is $174. The main board is supposedly available as aftermarket, but none I've found so far has the same plug configuration. Frigidaire's price is $225.

 

Board/relay. Bet.

 

The board is easily repaired...if you can source the relay. That's the tricky part.

 

Is the breaker on?

 

If you can find similar size and rating.. who said it had to be a factory one?

5 pins...in a specific pattern to solder to the board, so yes, pretty specific. Factory buys them, but you have to find out who makes them.
