My parents are both gone.

My family lives 1,500 miles away. We text Wordle and Connections (and other things) daily.

My wife's family lives 1 mile away.

We haven't seen them in 2 years when my mom died.

We don't care to change that.

Ive basically wrote off my family...they dont care to talk to me anyhow. Feeling is mutual, we just live different lives.

 

As a man of faith it is my immediate over anything else. That means only my wife and kids.

I’ve have had a lot of struggles dealing my parent’s divorce, one of them being an alcoholic, selfish step parent, gossiping aunts and uncles.

thankfully I have been really good at setting up personal boundaries and managing realistic expectations.

 

True story, just happened......

My wife wants to know every detail.

Guy came in the shop and told me Shelvie passed away (his neighbor, one of our customers from the store), I said oh no what happened? He said cancer.

Text my wife and told her she passed, she ask what happened? I said cancer.

She said when was she diagnosed? I said November 12th, 1:15pm

I get

I said your lucky I knew it was cancer, she said true, I was very surprised you knew that

I have ran into people that show FAKE hospitality too. I don’t like this type worse.

Them tools for German brand vehicle that I worked on every now and then are really troubling, not only the sizes but they have more ‘special tools’ required than what I can afford.

 

After ignoring it for a few *days* I took a trip to the Chiropractor this morning, he used a cordless vibration gadget on my back - one place felt like I got hit with an electric cattle prod.

*Measured in months, it was bothering last summer...

 

You made the effort & keep your door open - folks either work their issues out or they don't - you & family aren't the problem here.

You can only be the light, you can't make them come to it.
