That looks a little large for a yote, but I haven't seen one in the flesh for many years. Just out of curiosity what would you have estimated the weight.

Because they have some kind of built in Lunar Calendar that lets them know Hunting season is over. I find it very bizarre how this happens. Then sometime this spring they will all but vanish from my area and I won't see one until this fall when hunting season opens again. So yeah its kind of a mystery how this crap happens.

Okay, Deer Hunting Story time, and I'll keep it short. About 25 years ago, I was a member of a hunt club down in Anson County NC. I was trying to quit smoking, but had to venture out one night to find a store. I'd been hunting for about 3 days and hadn't seen anything. On the way to find a store I had to stop in the middle of a country road in the middle of nowhere to let around, and I'm not exaggerating here, at least 100 deer cross the road. I was absolutely dumfounded. If there hadn't been a house about 200 yards away I would have killed me a really nice fat doe, but thought better of it. I sat there for about 15-20 minutes until it was safe to move on. Didn't kill anything on that trip.

Yea it was a mature male. He was probably 35-40 lbs.

We got plenty in Texas. I shot one over thanksgiving when I was here on my land hunting. Come on down with your predator call and take a couple out.

From One David to Another David, I surely wish that I could, but my hunting days are over. I would have a hard time driving all the way back to Texas, which is were I'm from. What part of the state do you have property in. I would love to bust a good size male during the winter when the coat would be it's finest. My old 300 savage bolt action Remington would be up to the task if I could shoot it.:( Have a good one, and if your driving back and forth be safe on the highway. Too many Idiots on the roads these days.

I’m from Palestine (south of Tyler) my land is just south of Richland Chambers reservoir

I’m headed back to the coast of NC tomorrow morning. Looks like the drive might be a bit spicy

Those that have snow normally, probably aren’t wowed by this lol. But for us Floridians, this is wild lol. Never thought I’d see hogs rooting in snow lol.
