I sure hope this ain't true....

Ive done this in the past. I will spray everything down first with simple green... Hopefully that will get most of it off.

I do have Mavcoat on the entire undercarriage and in the fender wells, so hopefully that does the job of protection.

I went driving around in the snow today. It’s crazy to see this much snow in South Mississippi.

So we have been down in the teens in the AM and my 4cyl doesn't seem to like it.

In the early AM when I start my truck before work I have been randomly getting a low oil pressure warning on cold start (not always) but it's generally when the temps are below 20.

I shut the truck off and start it again and it's "fine".

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions.. it hasn't been this cold here in a while.

Once warmed up my truck drives and operates like normal

Are you using full synthetic? Full synthetic definitely flows better in the cold, despite it having the same W rating. also agree wiht 0w-20

    Yes sir

    Other notes:
    Dipstick level looks fine
    OEM filter
    5k intervals

I recently started to get the cold start rattle on occasion. Truck drives fine no other dash lights come on .. just concerning that in the cold weather now I seem to be having these random issues. I'll be pissed if I grenade this motor being as I purposely didn't get the V6 in lieu of this slow ass turd because I had wanted a reliable workhorse....go figure

There’s MUCH smarter folks that can chime in but I’ll give it a shot.

Either get a block heater…..or let it warm up some amount of time before driving. I’ve noticed even on 40F days if I start (the 3.5L V-6) and immediately put in R (or D depending on whether I backed into the driveway) *and* release the brake the Low Pressure red screen of death will appear momentarily. I *think* you can get an OBD interface (SCANGAUGE? https://www.scangauge.com/) or some other way of observing oil pressure and see what’s going on.

Yeah . When I see this message I don't drive it.. Ive seen it a few times and I don't drive it... Just let it warm up. It goes away quickly. Less than 5 seconds. I generally turn it off then start it back up without issue.

I swapped in some older, less shiny taillights. The only silver or chrome left is on the stock TRD OR wheels...

I gave mine a salt bath today.

Or maybe I just drove it. Or both at once. Okay, we have ice. It happens a lot but do we really need this much salt?!?

Threw a CEL for P0012 and P0022, messed up camshaft position and other VVT issues. Gonna try and do some easy fixes tomorrow, hoping it isn't something serious. The truck only has 124,000 miles on it.

Make sure your oil level is full, clean and the correct oil is being used...

It would be odd that both variable timing solenoids failed, or both the VVT actuators failed at the same time on different banks..

Low oil, dirty oil, or oil that does not meet the manufacturer's requirements are all causes for this, and would affect both sides, as well as a worn out timing chain...

I can’t be so nonchalant. We call it “winter” or “weather“.

Where did you find these? I’d love to get rid of the shiny TRD tails with some dark OEM ones

When I lived in the mountains, at 11.300ft. my Taco saw -35 to -40*F quite a few times, with no start up issues.
I did not have a block heater, but I made sure to run the 0 - 20 oil, and ran my anti-freeze at a 2 to 1 ratio for the best cold weather protection (something like -55*, if memory serves)
