As the title suggests I am looking for 3 inch, maybe possibly 4 inch, lift suggestion for my 08...

It currently is 6 inch lifted by blocks, Front and rear... it was a 3 inch lift (blocks) til i got the bigger wheels for free. :/

my wheel info is to the best of my knowledge is:
    Offset: +10mm Backspacing: 4.92" Bolt Pattern: 6-139

I normally run: 265/70/17's and plan on going back to this size... I currently have 285/70/17 and I am not happy with them... Rubbing, heavy, and I feel they have cause me more trouble then worth it for free tires. (I got them from acquaintance. they only had like 2000 miles on them...) My suspension is maxed out

I am wanting to get rid of the blocks and get back to a better 3 inch lift.

I will also admit that I am also complimenting just taking it all back to stock but I don't have those 15 inch wheels anymore. They are long gone :/

2.5 seems to be the consensus around here on max lift to keep geometry and CVs up front happy. If you're going to correct the suspension, you might want to make that your goal.

I suspect wheel fitment is your root cause of problems, not the tire size. Sounds like chopping and trimming would be in order to get the needed clearances.

What actually do have lift wise. There is no thing as a 6” lift block for the front. And if combined a 3” front lift coil with a 3” spacer you’d absolutely zero down travel in the front. If you have a 6” db kit then to go back to 3” you need to weld in the section of framer that was cut out, possible spindles as on the 6” kit those get replaced. Post up some pics of the front and rear.

We really need pics of this. Cause it doesn't make much sense unless you have ZERO down travel on your suspension, which would make the ride HORRIBLE.

I ran for years with just a single 3" inch block. All my problems came around from the last year and half with the 285's, and adding an additional 3 inch block to help which i hoped would be temporary.

front - double 3 inch blocks
    Rear - add-a-leaf & 3 inch block

I have never cared for blocks at all and want them completely out... Worst decision I have made...

Yeah, I can't even imagine how you could get two installed... Unless you compressed the coilover before reinstalling. Again, I can't find a single picture of anyone doing this. And unless we see a picture I'm sure a lot of folks are gonna consider this an early Friday thread. Even at 3.5 inches, you should be out of down travel, stacking another lift in shouldn't actually lift anything as the lower control arms would be maxed out.

Do you have a suggestion for a 2.5 setup that does not require any blocks?

Simplest would just be to get Bilstein 5100s. They can be adjusted to that lift. You can either reuse your coils and have them assembled, or just buy the setup pre-assembled with new coil spring. It's a little more expensive, but I didn't have the tools and such to disassemble/reassemble a coilover.

I don't want to go about taking them apart again.. so it would be a pre-assembled... What about the Rear?

Honestly surprised that even drives somewhat ok lol, no hate but im glad nothing has failed catastrophically. Could we see a pic of the whole truck? When you jack it up by the frame do the wheels droop down at all??

I kinda wanted to ask that same question. I can't imagine the front suspension would move when it was jacked up.

it drops just a little maybe about an inch in the front and a little bit more in the rear. I have had to replace the Carrier Bearing twice so far... I don't care to take any more pictures of a setup that i am not proud of....

For the rear, a block of the right size may be fine for you. But with the age of the truck, pics of the leaf springs may be good to see, or just a good description. If they still have good arch, might be fine. If they are a "W" shape, or have really bad negative arch, new springs are probably needed. And if you buy new springs, you could skip the block and get a spring that provides lift based on your needs. Leaf springs though, we'd need to know your use case before making suggestions. Is your truck always empty? Canopy? Decked Drawer system with lots of gear? Do you tow often, and what? Any idea what your constant bed load is?

yeah they are not in that great of shape in my opinion due to the blocks and axle wrap.. I'll just say the bottom straight leaf bar isn't exactly straight anymore...

I would say a medium setup for towing and loaded down bed... i also have an off-road after-market rear bumper by Pro-Offroad. I think.?. It's been like 10 years since i put that on...

Not saying you need to buy from these guys, but I have with good luck. Same with Headstrong. It's a few options you can look at. I know some people really like the RXT that allow some adjustment for dialing in ride height/capacity. personally I use the Deaver Expedition springs, but I have a ridiculous amount of weight on my truck.
