This sounds like a great idea. Would you happen to have a p/n or link handy?

Wait, what? When did you price them out? I hope that isn't the going rate for shipping!

I got free shipping on an order of over $100. I just checked by entering a dummy order. Free shipping for orders over $100 still applies.

That's great. I might have bought OEM if I could have gotten that price. I was pricing them through toyota.oempartsonline.com and the estimate was $450 two or three months ago for just the two headlight units, no bulbs or anything else.

In any case, the headlights I got through Amazon look great and fit perfectly. No leaks or yellowing so far.

Which ones did you get? And how long have you had them?

I bought a 2008 Tacoma last month and the dealer had replaced the headlights with an unknown brand. They are adequate for now since I raised the driver's side beam up a couple of turns. I adjusted the horizontal adjuster 1 turn and it didn't do anything so I put it back. I think the horizontal adjuster is just about useless, from what I've read. How were your lights adjusted right out of the box?

You can scroll up to see the parts I used. I installed them a couple months ago.

I only needed to adjust the vertical aim, one much more than the other.

Everything I read, said on a stock tacoma the headlight housing mount where the arrow is (on both sides of truck) is a horrible thing to get to up behind the bumper. With the ARB on my 2nd gen (2011), you can see it, and just slide a wrench up underneath the bumper. Super easy.

Apparently the function of the upper adjuster (high beam aim) has been changed from OEM (horizontal aim). Maybe that's why it didn't seem to affect the horizontal aiming when I was turning it!

If possible, find a dealer that does local pickup to avoid shipping costs

I am needing now headlight housings myself. I want to the Sport Housings on but they don't make them for the 2005. Will the 2009-2011 work for sure in the 2005? Toyota didn't change and mounts through out the years?

I've got that gap too so I'm hoping (and praying, LOL) that I don't have to drop the bumper forward (I saw one video where the person disconnected the top bolts and let it pivot forward) or remove it since I'll probably be working by myself and that SOB is heavy, especially with the Warn in it. :censored: I really need to make friends with some local Tacoma people since the folks I grew up working on vehicles with are all getting older and beat up- including me.

I don't have the parts numbers for the plastic clips handy, I was near the dealer so I swung in and just asked at the parts counter and let them look them up. They're in a bag in the garage and, uh, I kinda have to find where I put them. :homer:

If you have a floor jack it might a good idea to put that underneath it with a 2 x 4 or something in the center to lift in back into position to hold where you need it so you can tighten it back up?

They'll fit. I had 2009 Sport headlights on my 2008.

Re: that lower outside mounting point for the headlight housing, I was able to reach that screw by loosening part of the fender liner in the wheel well and reaching up from the fender with a 10mm socket on a 1/4" ratchet. That was the most difficult part of the installation.

Do you need an adapter harness, or are all of the bulbs the same?

It will all be the same bulbs, I was just wondering if the mounts were different. Thats why I asked the question. The Sport Housing has a Slightly Smoked look to them.
