nice! yeah, I'm pretty sure all of the ones on eBay right now are identical, and ripped off directly from Toyota's OEM manufacturer in China, as is tradition lol

did yours also come with a photocopy of the Toyota installation instructions posted earlier in this thread?

I see places that have the step for sale with buy it now but I don't see any where I can just make an offer?

Maybe I've been away too long and I don't remember how to eBay? Anyone got a link or tip for this?

 

hmm that's odd - i just did a search and now i can't find a single chinese knockoff for 4th gen on ebay, only OEMs for way more. when i bought mine there were a dozen+ sellers.

 

Anyone know what the weight use weight is. Or what standard they were tested to. Likely ASTM.

I just checked for it but it states the item is no longer available and the listing is gone, kinda odd.

 

all of them are suddenly gone. unless it is some cease-and-decist situation, which i strongly doubt, the listings were probably all different accounts for the same seller, and they are sold out for now.

 

Fwiw my eBay shipment is still in transit but originated from New Jersey, not China like I was expecting. It seems very likely they sold out if the seller(s) somehow only had a handful of them.

I ordered mine last saturday...shipped from New Jersey on monday...now it takes a long detour to get into Canada and is supposed to arrive by the end of the month...I hope.

see my post earlier - i would have no way of knowing mine isn't OEM. i actually think it probably is, typical china factory tactic to make a whole bunch of extras and sell them on the gray market.

 

It also might be that it is the same as OE, just without the branding. That is, unmarked but OEM, and without the silly markup. I've bought plenty of parts, particularly for my German cars, that are from the same people as OE. They just don't have the brand logo stamped on them or even have it ground off or scratched out.
