I have an electric range and I am always envious of those with gas. Electric is fine, but the ability to regulate your heat output just isn't the same.

The glass top ones are the worst. Takes forever to boil water, and the burners stay hot for like 15 minutes after you shut them off!

I mean technically, it is the saying... Like I know what you mean. I'm just saying, technically...

Now this right here is a valid concern. I don't mind my electric burners or heating coils whatever you want to call them, but the fact that they're hot 10 minutes later is a concern

The good thing about the glass tops is there’s only one surface to clean.

I’d much rather have a gas one though.

At least there's a light to warn you that it's still hot. It just kind of sucks when you're making something and you want to lower the temperature. You pretty much need to take whatever it is off the burner for a few minutes while it cools down.

True. They're definitely easier to clean than the old coil type electric ranges.

W/ the electric, I've had to learn to shut it off before stuff is done cooking so it doesn't burn.

If I'm using cast iron I always set it off center so I have a cool side and a warm side. Of course if you're using a pot, yeah you have to just turn it down and hope for the best. Utilize experience to know when to turn something down.

Until you have one... we purposely bought a gas oven last time. Thing is so unreliable-temp variations etc. I would never buy a gas oven again. No keep in mind we didn't buy a 20k stove either. Love the cook top, hate the oven.

Any convex or concave action going on with the bottom of your pots/pans makes this even worse.
They need to be completely flat for optimal results.

Taking my truck back in to the alignment place.
As soon as I let go of the wheel, it pulls into the oncoming traffic. Cool!

They said they struggled because of a frozen cam tab but they didn't tell me which one....so how am I supposed to get it fixed so they don't struggle next time? dumbasses.
They're going to toss it back on to see what they can do and to show me where the issue lies.

Why I do shit myself.....Might of been outta whack but at least it drove straight(er). lol

I use the @Supr4Lo method: cams all the way and hang on. So far so good-happy tires and happy camper.

Once they make up for their fuckup, find a better shop.

This is a good taco method

I seem to remember putting in a lot of dual fuel ranges in the higher end homes I've done. So you'd have an electric oven with a gas cooktop, the best of both worlds.

    Sound advice.

Despite my online demeanor, I'm not really one to take things back or complain but I can't drive it this way.

In my case the shop I go to they were unfamiliar with Tacoma common issues, such as cam bolt problems. They hated doing alignments on Tacoma's.
They have been thankfully for the information I have given them. Now I get preferred service. Example,,, I called yesterday about a radiator leaking and talked to the girl for an appointment. The best she could do is February 6th. The owner called me back and said he could get me in next Tuesday.
Just find a shop and develop a good relationship with them. Not many small shops left any more. They can't find help.
    That's what I have experienced.
