Thanks! Cats are getting daily stern talking to in preparation.

We ordered a 2025 Transit XL, ecoboost, AWD, with options etc but hollow inside for custom van conversion. Van conversion starts late spring.

Having a heat wave here in the PNW, 30 and clear this morning. I’m going to hit the pool this morning for some laps, then, hell, I don’t know. Something, I’m retired.

I've seen old, retired U-haul trailers. It's easy enough to build a surge brake trailer, or modify one to have surge brakes. Personally, I like surge brakes more than electric brakes. It's nice to hook up and just go and not have to worry about a controller, etc.

Agreed, I prefer surge brakes as well. Regarding retired U-Haul trailers, I saw something on their web site which said, they destroy their old trailers, and if you see one without one of their easily identifiable license plates, it is most likely illegal. Now, I'm pretty sure they used to sell the old trailers, but that was something like 40 years ago, so I suppose it is possible for a few of those to still be on the road.

winds are much more than the forcast...

Windy with sunshine. High 76F. Winds ENE at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Forget about even trying to skim the pool today

Personally, I'd never want a used U-haul trailer, they are way too heavy, they have to be as rentals, or they wouldn't last. For my personal trailer, it wouldn't need to be built that heavy. Surge brakes are definitely a good option.

Evening Ken. I didn't see any doggie snow angels. The snow was melted and gone from sunny area's by 10:30 - 11:00 :pout: But she seemed to enjoy it. Temps finally warming up over the next few days... Made it to 37* yesterday and 47* today. A few degrees warmer tomorrow. Wearing double layers of clothes.... Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Stay warm.

Good luck on the surgery, Tom.

    evening boys

Hmm.. heat pump making weird noises when defrosting. Ice buildup on the outside, at the bottom. I might be able to remove some of it. Good day to do it, supposed to be warmer, should help. Don't like poking around the coil with a screwdriver, but it's below the coil area, mostly on the base, so far. Just a matter of time before it builds up into the coil area. Supposed to be warmer next few days, which will help also. Grateful it's still working.
Edit - Success! Several warmer days in a row since, helped clear the ice buildup. Operating good again. I did the right thing at the right time for once.

Good morning. Warming up a bit today, 13 degrees at 6:30. @Oldie2007 Happy belated birthday and heal up quickly. Son is doing an open mic night at Skippers Pier and sounds like a nice dinner tonight. This month a dinner out is a salad with some form of protein and a non-cream-based soup. Water is the beverage of choice. Made some vegetable soup with chunks of chicken yesterday afternoon. Taking a container over to my cousin today. Cardiologist visit went well yesterday just one more and that is today, back to the GP for a urine test. I believe after the test today all my preop tasks are completed. One more meeting before surgery and it happens next week.
