Going to run the lines tomorrow, but got it to fit in there perfectly. Trimmed the bracket and used m6 rivnuts on the front.

I drilled holes in the side of my afe airbox and mounted the can to it. My catch can has a drain valve and hose routed down to the frame for easy maintenance.

Ideally a catch can should be at the lowest point ;)

Right side of the engine bay wall is where mine is. There was already a couple holes it mounted right up to.

Here's the end result. I'll probably trim the lines just a little bit but that's how it sits now. Appreciate everyone's inputs. TW is the best.

Might be a stupid question. But I'm wanting to be safe :burp: anyone know if the factory TRD tuned SC setup has the regular spec f0r spark plug gap? I didn't see any mention on the first or second page of the thread. Sorry to waste time  PFA :) 20250107_125459.jpg

pretty sure in the instructions it says .032" or .035"

here it is, found the .pdf i have

Install the 6 new spark plugs (K2). A little anti-seize on the plug threads will prevent seizing in the future (Fig 6-4). Torque: 20 Nm (15 ft lbf) Set Spark Plug Gap at 0.8 mm (0.032”)

Thanks! Nothing too much really. I finally got around to installing parts that I've bought over the past few months. In no particular order
    SDHQ Billet Battery Terminals
    AJT Battery Tie Down
    Spiker Engineering Hood Struts
    TEQ Offroad Underhood Light
    2.8" quikchange pulley
Aluminum coolant reservoir for the blower
    HPS Oil Catch can
    HPS Radiator Hoses
    CFS Radiator

High flow Twisted Steel AFE headers and full 3" exhaust is next. It really never ends! :D

Wanna go back to a Tacoma? Mines always for sale. It just sits in the garage hiding from the winter salts.

I'm all in on the GX470 project for now. Might try to put a turbo on it next year...

I like how you've combined the larger TRD pipe with the AFE air box. I'm looking to do the same. Just curious but what do you have tapped in right before the TB silicone coupler?

I had something like this made of abs. Can't remember the size off the top of my head but 3 or 4", had to cut one side nearly flush with the tube stub, drill a couple of new holes and used small bolts and nuts and RTV to seal it good. Then bought a silicone adaptor that bumped up another inch or so to fit the intake extension to the radiator.

Can't remember if there was much improvement in airflow either hahaha

One of two points of methanol injection the other being on the opposite side of the intake tube. The whole intake system was a real Frankenstein project. TRD 4runner/FJ intake tube (bigger inner diameter than the AFE one), silicone adaptors, somewhat smoothed out 76mm throttle body port matched to the URD Throttle Body adaptor which was also matched to the smoothed SC inlet. Also spliced wiring for 4runner/FJ MAF sensor. Pioneered by a couple other fellas on this forum (BillDaCat8 was one of them).

Nice! I currently have the T4R 70mm throttle body. Methanol is on my wish list. Any issues running it? Yep, just did my harness yesterday going off @BillDaCat8 write up.
