Hi all, this is the corroded bolt terminal for my transmission power!! I have a few questions and am in need of some advice. 1: how do I go about removing this crimp? if that's not an option how do I go about cutting, stripping, and attaching new wire? Also what gauge is this wire and which is positive and negative? 2: WHAT IS THIS PART CALLED!!! Thats probably my most important question haha. all advice is welcome and for any advice on fixing please mention any special tools I'll need. Thanks for any help getting my baby running again!!

Welcome to Tacoma World. I don't know specifically what the OEM part number or name is for that terminal, but essentially it is a large gauge cable lug and appears to be going to the alternator not the transmission. OEM wire I believe is 2 gauge, you can likely find a crimp lug available at your local auto parts store. Good luck on that cable (and all that rust, yikes).

Edit: Thread linked below has some photos that might help in your process of doing the repairs.

Take it to a mechanic you clearly don’t have a clue. No offence.

I'd start by unbolting the wire from the alternator.
Then mix up some baking soda in a hot water.
Dip the wire into the water/soda. Let it soak for about 1 min.
Scrub the crimp and eyelet of the wire with a brush.
Rinse the wire, eyelet, and crimp well with clean water.
Dry it the best you can. Then take a good beefy pair of pliers and squeeze the crimp tight.

Next, brush the mounting location on the alternator.
That way everything is clean when when you bolt it back up.

FWIW, can you tell use what transmission issues you are having?

thanks, I ended up realizing I could use a generic bolt terminal, went to AutoZone, and picked up one for a few bucks with some shrink wrap. She's running like a dream.
