COMPLETED 5th Gen 4Runner BBK upgrade for 2nd Gen Tacomas

I did this upgrade when I went to 34” inch tires, the stock brakes were scary I had to really get on the pedal to stop the truck. The pedal was very stiff. With the 4runner brake setup the truck stopped easier how ever the pedal was softer. I learned to love it and most importantly it made me way less scared about if I would be able to stop in an emergency.

 

Please tell me I bought the right kit.

I'm looking for calipers now. I've had the backing plates sitting around for probably a year.

I think that's the one I used actually. I bought rebuilt calipers on ebay from a 2011 T4R

 

I know they aren't a must have, but I really wanted red calipers. I couldn't find any for the life of me. I just bought the Tacoma kit. I will do the T4R next go round. I appreciate letting me know that's the right kit. They can sit with the other parts I've been sitting on for years

 

Have anyone fit this BBK with the stock TRD 16” off road beadlock style alloy wheels. 16x7.5 -10mm

It wont work, the larger diameter rotor means the caliper has to sit further out, it will rub the barrel of the wheel.
