Sounds about right for dealers. They gotta make money of them otherwise it's not worth their time.

Your prices don't seem too unrealistic, but like stated the R3 is niche and tbh the MX dirtbike here in CA is a tough sell as you almost need to be a street legal dirtbike to do anything these days off road.

People just don't have the disposable income they once did so luxury items like motos are coming down in price. Also it's right after Xmas and people haven't gotten their tax returns yet, might hold out till say March/April when that tax money hits

(Always lold at people who get massive tax returns.... You just gave the govt an interest free loan for the year).

Yeah fair point on the post holiday/tax money issue, it's definitely the worst time to be selling lol.

I was hoping that the YZ being grandfathered into being green sticker would be a big selling point and help but so far no one has even cared except one dealer sales rep I mentioned it to, who was interested in buying it for himself but haven't heard anything from him since.

Guess I'll hold out for now.

Yeah not many people know of the green sticker grandfathering or how it works. Hell I'm still fuzzy on it.

    from the research I've done:

any 2021MY bike or earlier that was red sticker is automatically considered a green sticker bike and allowed year round on any OHV/green sticker permissible trails as of Jan 1, 2025, no more season restrictions
2022 bikes and on were supposed to stop getting any stickers at all, and are only allowed to be used on private land (personal or private tracks, or for racing)

but from what I've heard from most dealers and individuals, the DMV is slow to catch up to the laws/workers are unaware, and red stickers are still being issued to bikes 2022+. So it's basically a gamble of hoping not to get stopped, and hoping the DMV doesn't notice at some point later and pull the sticker from your bikes.

I already bent 1 and it wasnt on there but half a year? Ill probably go back to an oem one when i bend this other one.
Dealers low ball as fuck. Wouldnt even consider anything theyd offer tbh.

Granted when i sold my yz450f it was a tough sell. I only had 1 person even care to look at it and thats who bought it. But i had it listed for a long time and stupid cheap

Yeah they definitely do lol. absolutely cutthroat. It's almost insulting when they give you the numbers.

That said, I've been looking at some Razors in my area in case I can't get the restricted license. Any tips/mods to look out for or avoid/models to avoid? Apparently there's quite a few here in SoCal.

Started collecting stock parts for the Harley. Found a nice stock exhaust and mounting brackets. The only reason is I saw on bring a trailer that two 94 nostalgia bikes sold in Aug 2024 for 9.5k and 10k with over 30k miles. That’s 4K more than I paid. They had all the stock hard to find parts. On the search for stock carb and intake. I will check what cam it has in it and may look for a stock camshaft also. I won’t be installing these parts but instead store them for later.
I have the real hard to find saddle bags with mounts and windshield bag that are in great condition boxed up.
So No I don’t think I have something special or rare but with the stock parts it will raise the value over what I paid which is always good. The bike is 31 years old.

Perfect, that should be a great starting point. I'll def reach out if I get further along in looking at em.

Might have to put a hold on it now though...just found out a fire started about an hour ago that's about 4-5 miles southeast of my home. They're predicting it moves north, but i'm very coastal so hoping the winds keep it away.

I spent this past long weekend in Death Valley with my wife and friends. My wife and friends flew to Las Vegas and rented a car to get to Death Valley, while I just rode there on the Super Tenere.

The roads were pretty fun to ride and the scenery was gorgeous. As usual, the bike was flawless and took all the stuff I packed easily:

I did order some 80/20 tires to go on some of the gravel roads, and also because my tires were pretty cooked, but they didn't get delivered in time. I ended up swapping my rear Road 6 for my old rear Road 6 I had sitting in the back yard and never got around to disposing. It had slightly more tread left than the newer Road 6 so I slapped it on and ran it for the weekend. I was cursing Revzilla during this 2 mile ride down a very washed out gravel road:

The rest of the scenery and hiking was beautiful:

The AirBnb we stayed at had a big garage so I didn't even need to park my bike outside!

    Temperatures were pretty brutal:

But the Gerbing heated gloves and heated jacket liner I got for this trip were so hot that even 30 degree weather wasn't a big deal. My lower half was getting cold though... might start looking into a heated seat!

I like the way that one grips on there much better and the arm looks like you can actually set it where you want it. Might see if I can canibalize my other one someway to make it more of that kind of setup. Mine is just the claw mount or whatever they call it.

Did you ride the 190 down from olancha to panamint springs? I have ridden my dirtbike and driven that section by "star wars canyon" and OMG thats such a beautiful twisty section of road.

Ahh man, put that section of road on your list of things to ride if you are ever in that area. Darwin falls is a cool hike, and if you feel like being adventurous you can proceed to china garden... literal fresh water spring in the middle of the desert that houses tons of goldfish.

Right right. That’s exactly what I did. Plus having a bunch of extra parts made it easy.

Kind of surprised no one on here has mentioned the ktm 390 enduro since it's been "officially" announced as of a few days ago.

I for one, think its sexy as hell. That is the least bug-eyed KTM headlight i've seen in years. 45hp, $5500, six speed wide ratio gearbox, 9" of travel front/rear, fancy electronics, funky new exhaust. Hell of a value proposition if you can find one at MSRP when they launch.

But 350+ pounds and under 2.5gallon tank are bummers.

It's an odd duck, but the light weight ADV/rally bikes are picking up.

Will it even be sold in north america?

The issue some have is they have 2 plated dirt bikes and the 690, so this thing being a tiny bit heavy, small tank, leaves it in an odd spot.

Oddly I'd probably get the Ibex 450 first. But I'm at the point where I wouldn't want a bike like this at all. Either a plated dirt bike, or a proper road/touring bike.

I am drooling over the 390 SMC R. If I don't rage quit my job this year maybe I'll try and buy one if I can sell my truck and Grom.
