Is pinch weld necessary for 285/70r17

I have 2 inches of lift front and 1 1/2 rear, with 285/70r17, 0 offset wheels and tire specs. I was rubbing on the the back part of my fender liner and used a heat gun to push it back. I noticed that the pinch weld MIGHT possibly be in the way of the tires with enough spring compression and with the wheels slightly on full lock. I think it will be really close. Does anybody run this exact setup without touching the pinch weld and just went for a cab mount chop?
I will be getting my cab mount chop this week and more plastic trimming. Not sure whether to do the pinch weld mod or just leave it.

By the way. The bottom photo is not on full lock. It is turned to the point where the tire is closest to the fender liner/pinch weld area.

 

I run 285s on a +4 OEM 4R SEMA wheels and a good alignment was all I needed. I say no with your set up, Alignment time is cheaper, quicker and reversable!

 

True. Caster adjustments could do the trick.

 

Smashing that pinch weld down isn't going to cost you anything but time though. I did mine when I was prepping for 35's.

 

How will 33 or 285/70 do without it being smashed tho?

 

I still rubbed when I had 285/70R17's. But I wheel a lot too, ha.
