All about how you drive it. 19-20mpg tank average all day long on Texas speedways with an aftermarket bumper and heavier steel wheels. Stock TSS package tires which are a 265/65r17 all terrain. Same sizing as TRD packages.

OTT tune will make no difference on mileage. Just drivability. Speaking from experience.

just a couple of things tbh
pretty sure he is comparing his mpg to a tundra and if its more worth it to just go to a tundra if his mpg is as bad as one

Mine is stock except the OTT tune.
I also drive locally in either ECT or S mode to avoid constant upshifting.

This is a bit detrimental to mileage.
I get about 16~17 with the above.

My weekly freeway drive to the gun range gives about 23+ mpg at 65 mph.

No complaints here the avg that the computer gives you is crap!
My avg sucks but winter gas and remote starter to warm up hits it hard.
My actual trip mpg ain’t bad.
    2” lift and 285/75/16s.
When it needs gas I put it in!

John it's a box, it will never give you good gas mileage. The Tundra is a bigger box, it will give you worse gas mileage.

P.S. the Sport & the Off Road models give the same est mileage, yet the OR doesn't have the chin strap.

I have 265 70 17 on truck.......19' sport- got new tires Falken Rubitrek. I think you're right there's not a chance that a stock 2016 to 2019 tundra is going to get better gas mileage than the Tacoma?

I got a consistent 22 mpg with my truck when I was in Arizona. I moved to Knoxville and got only 17 mpg at the best. 265/75R16 load range E tires. The location makes a difference.
