I'm surprised the 390 will be 350+ lb. I guess it is similar in size to the DRZ, though the DRZ has always seemed like a huge bike to me. Plus it has an extra gear in the transmission. Even the RC 390 is sub 350 lb.

FWIW my RC 390 has been reliable so far and it has always lived north of 8k RPM. I guess I'll see how the cams have held up when I do the valves this weekend.

Buy a carb ktm 2t (2017-2019) and be gone with most electrical stuff and keep a counterbalancer and estart. If you dont care about estart you can looked at a 250sx up through 2022.

Granted the tpi/tbis have been decent.
Yeah idk why its so heavy but i wouldnt buy one anyways

If you haven’t gotten a chance to ride the newer ktm TBI 2strokes, they are a solid improvement.
I’d take one of those over a YZ for any type of riding except flat out motocross racing. Even then, they’re still better, but the differences aren’t as pronounced.

Just got to work after about a 40 minute ride. It was 32 degrees when I left the house, and around 34 when I got to work. No heated gear, just the Revit Sand4 suit and Hippo Hands. I was pleasantly warm when I pulled up at work. Still gotta see how things do when it gets below that, but I think I'm dialed to handle even a little colder at this point.

    ALLLLL THE QUOTES.

500 exc is 13K+, 350 EXC is $12,5? Ibex 450 is a good call, sub 400 cc's just doesn't seem like quite enough for travel to me.. and if you aren't traveling with it, then why buy this instead of a used dirt bike.

    That's a sexy boi too.

Better power to weight ratio than a lot of bikes, though, CRF300L, for instance.

Seriously, the price point is huge.

It's 40 lbs less than the ADV. Plus add in fancy electronics, bigger wheels, chunkier tires, beefier framer, it adds up I guess

Hippo hands for the win. 22 on my ride in today.

They probably could have, but not for $5500. Honestly bikes are getting so expensive that I'd rather have the extra weight and cheaper entry price.

Also my old WR250X was so light that it would get blown around on the highway. I'm hoping the 390 SMC R/Enduro are better on the highway due to their weight.

Yeah I just want the bike to be good enough to go down the highway to the twisties (or dirt trails if I got the Enduro).

Kind of a mix between the Super Tenere and the Grom! I want something I can still practice wheelies on and take to kart tracks but also have fun in the twisties if I don't want to take the S10. Also, a second street bike I can ride everywhere would be nice if the S10 is down for maintenance.

I have no heated gear except grips. If it's dry lowest I'd probably go is low 40's, which is about as cold as it gets here in San Diego usually.

You don't need the truck space for track days? I wouldn't wanna pack all the stuff I bring into a smaller vehicle but I do tend to overpack

That's why both my track bikes are still street legal lol.

Things are looking relatively up this week. Got approval for the restricted license so i don't have to spend on an eBike...though for some reason I'm still tempted.

Managed to sell the YZ last night to the tune of about $3200, which I'm alright with. I don't think I'll ever buy another kickstart bike again after the grief that thing gave me, especially yesterday trying to sell it lol.

Haha I would if I didn't already have the Aim Solo 2. Still need to figure out how to mount it on my track bikes. Next on the purchase list is tire warmers (taking recommendations) and a Honda genny

My truck is a regular cab with a 6 ft box. It doesn't have much internal lockable storage and I'm too tall to comfortably drive it for more than 30 min or so. Plus the ride is rough. With my Forester + trailer I can fit a ton more stuff in the hatch, fit two bikes a lot easier on the trailer, and also put my ski box on top for even more storage. Only downside is paying extra bridge tolls for the trailer.
