Anyone know of a front mount 2" receiver? Or is custom the only way?

Hm Found this one : https://www.curtmfg.com/part/31013

Says only fits 01-04s. Probably fit my 95 though.

I'm assuming you know about the frame end differences over the years, but from the pics that design doesn't look like the differences would be a problem.

I've seen some pictures of front-mounts on 1st gens and some of them look like they hang pretty low. Is that a concern?

Oh yes I know the frames well haha
The 95-97 is the same as the 01-04. What is different is the actual bumper. but I wouldn't care about trimming it.

Not of concern. Thinking of getting a snow plow for my daily truck. Plus I could get a receiver winch to keep in the truck for extraction purposes. Seem to end up in a ditech every couple of years.

    https://www.snowplowsdirect.com/snowsport-hd-snow-plow

Don't need a big plow. But something that's easily removable just to do the driveway would be great. That'd do the ticket just fine. Was a use one near me but don't think it'll be there when I'm ready for it.

Found a dude on youtube that used his 1st gen with it. So know it'll work.

I had that Curt front mount on my truck (04) for a while. It uses the 2 existing mounting locations for the stock tow hook/tie down hooks, and the rear hole is drilled into the bumper brackets behind the hooks. You don't really need to put the tow hooks back on, but I think they might still fit with the stock hardware.

The biggest issue is for some harder core offroad use is the bar hangs a few inches below the frame so the receiver tube would hang below the bumper plastics. It isn't bad for logging, and fire roads but it is down there.

This pic is from 2017, before I switched to an ARB, and several other mods.

Won't be offroading this truck. It's my daily SX single cab. I have others for off-road.

Took the truck in for a second opinion on an oil leak that I gave up chasing. Ended up with a mighty big list of shit to do.

I installed bilstein 5100s with ome 880 springs and couldn't be happier. My truck is a 01 reg cab short bed 3rz and a couple months ago I put a arb bumper and 9500# winch on which sucked the front end down alot. Alot more than I liked, I like a lil rake but not as much as I got. So after searching lifts, levels from different manufacturers, yes even the rough country junk. I decided on bilstein 5100 and the ome 880 springs. So speaking for my self this set up sat the truck at 36" in the front to the fender flare and the rear is factory leafs shocks which sets at 36.5". I am happy with the outcome. In the near future itl have bilstein rear shocks as well.

That green truck looks great man. The height worked out and you got the bigger of the 2 shock jobs done. Rear shocks are a piece of cake. Cheers

After having the new springs on the struts it only took about 15 mins per side. Longest part was finding the 14mm for the top nuts. And yeah magnetic coozie for the win! No more loosing beers lol.

Tried a few different configurations for the ADS (re: last week conversation) and finally settled on this. I had to loosen the hoses which sprayed hydraulic fluid all over me, including my right eye. Hoping I didn't ruin them, but it still seems to drive well. They literally do not fit upside down any other way, and rightside up the clicker is unreachable, so either I'm the dumbass who ordered the beta version or the installer clocked the hoses wrong.
