    The problem is, experience.
It's super hard to know all the different trims and models.
A good parts guy didn't start yesterday.
    He started 10 years ago.

BTW, I'm not saying I'm a good anything.
I'm kind of taking up for the parts guy.
He was close, he just didn't ask enough questions.

    Correct.
What you are calling the adapter, is the cooler.

    If you remove the cooler.
You'd have add a pipe between the 2 hoses.
The hoses have coolant running through them.

I don't advise removing the cooler. Cooler is better.
But it's not "bad". Non-tow package trucks don't use it.
Just be cautious if you ever tow heavy loads.
    Oil temps could spike...(maybe)

    Oh....also.
    You can't just remove it.

Take a look at the threaded part the filter screws onto in the diagrams.
    It's different.

50ftlb isn't that much torque imo. Its slightly more than hand tight.

Right i get it. It's certainly not the parts guy's fault. I Called and asked, Hey, do you have an engine oil filter adapter seal? So he he just gave me what i'm asking him for I guess. My last question for you tonight and I really do appreciate the time you've spent helping me out, but Whenever I call to get the part, what do I need to ask for? Is that is it considered the oil cooler seal?

Tell them to look up the o-ring that goes between the oil cooler and oil filter bracket.
They have to go to the Oil Cooler diagram to find it.

It's called the -O-ring for oil cooler.
