Negative. Local club that feeds into NICA (6y/o - 12y/o ish). The NICA kids are mentors for this age group.

Only in GA does bike practice get canceled due to snow. My son still got some riding in.

So, we've had some snow the last couple of weeks up here and I've been using the Fattie. Don't get to use it much cause it has 5" studded tires mounted full time and can't justify it but 6-8 times a year. Yesterday was unique...like I stated about 6" of snow fell the last two weeks. Saturday it got to 40* with rain most of the day, then temps started to drop and it was 20* over night with a little snow shower in the morn. We were riding on 1/2" powder over solid ice, some arse puckering moments even with studs...

Can't upload pic, I'll try later...

Winters like this one on the east coast that I wish I had a fat bike. I’ve been debating renting one in West Virginia but if I’m driving all that way I’m just gonna XC ski. On the bright side, we’ve had enough snow that I can XC ski around the yard or drive down the street to the park and ski the walking trail and still have fun

I did some trail breaking this morning in the fresh snow. I should have selected a slightly flatter and/or less technical place, beat me up pretty good but it was a lot of fun!

OK, because of my lack of tech skills I can not post pic's any longer. Not sure what happened but when I try to load pic's it says that I have a "not accepted file type". All my pic's are IMG and used to be able to post pic's...? Not sure what happened...

You're just going to have to believe me when I describe stuff.

Rode last weekend with my 75yr old dad and my daughter. Was much colder then we anticipated for us spoiled Californians. My daughter managed to do 8 miles with minimal complaints. Success in my book!

@Squeaky Penguin got annoyed with all of the questions I’ve been asking him so now I’m here to annoy all of you with my questions!

I’ve been out of the biking game for awhile now and just bought my first 1x12 29’er with a dropper.

Went the budget route and bought a tailgate pad to transport the bikes, what are you guys using to protect the frame from getting messed up? Right now I’m just using blue painters tape. I’ve heard the ridewrap tailgate pad protector is prone to fall off.

I got a 20% discount through Backcountry during their Black Friday sale. They arrived with a few light scratches (all visible only from inside the truck bed), and they gave me an additional $130 discount, so I paid around $1,062 instead of the $1,489 they retail for. I also got two Molle Panels for $235 ea instead of the usual $298.IMG_8872.jpg

I’m probably in the minority, but I don’t worry about it. I’ve got a rub mark on my frame. You could find a local wrap shop and see if they have any clear PPF scraps or buy a roll of clear 3M PPF on Amazon and cut a piece to fit.

^^^ yep, not a bad idea anyway it will help protect the down tube paint from rocks and such being kicked up from the front tire. Do the whole tube all the way to BB area.

I don’t use a tailgate pad unless I’m with a group that’s shuttling or carpooling to a trailhead. That said, I have my bikes ride wrapped to protect the frame from tailgate pads. If a tailgate pad was my primary mode of transport, I’d get a stick on protector, if prepped and applied correctly, it should last a long time.

Unless you’re really picky about appearance I have just put clear packing tape on a small section of down tube for tailgate pad protection. Or rather frame protection.

Not too picky, I am currently rocking painters tape.
