    Just the basics
Two here...different colors...same parking spot...different times of day...and one doesn't seem to be able to keep it between the lines.

RARE 2-door 2nd Gen T4R from Canada. Despite having the SR5 trim and being quite well equipped, it does not have A/C. I heard that until fairly recently, Canada imposed a harsh luxury tax on vehicles with A/C that led to many Canadians purposely ordering seemingly loaded vehicles with no A/C. Luckily, adding A/C to T4Rs and trucks of this platform is not particularly hard!

My uncle’s 1991 Toyota pickup, in which he taught me to drive stick back in 2014, did not originally have A/C. The truck had only 40K original miles and was mint when my uncle bought it in 2010-2012ish. My aunt knows how to drive a stick shift, but refused to ride in it or drive it unless it had A/C. My uncle sourced a totaled 1994 Toyota pickup in a junkyard that had A/C as well as the doors with wing windows that he wanted (it may have actually been a T4R). He traded the original doors from his truck for the wing window doors, bought the complete A/C system, and put both in his truck. As an added bonus, a 1994 has R134a, so there was no retrofitting required!

A prime example of an “A/C tax” vehicle from Canada would be the 1991 Chevy S-10 Blazer from Quebec that showed up at the 2023 Carlisle Truck Nationals. This Blazer had literally every option but A/C (and a posi rear, despite being 2WD and spending its life in a snowy area)!

Holy crap. This is exactly the same 4Runner we had. Same year, color, trim package.

It definitely isn't our old one. That 4Runner is in vehicle heaven.

Sent to the great parking lot in the sky after an unfortunate accident, by order of USAA?

No, it was a 600,000.00 accident once all said and done.

What the hell happened?!?! The T4R was probably like $25K-$30K of that at most...

Medical bills are not cheap when people almost die. The vehicles were the cheapest part of that ordeal.

Yes and they were the ones injured (no seatbelts, going 25 mph over speed limit on a blind corner, ejected from vehicle and rolled over on twice).

Yikes. My wife's spine surgery was about 120K all in all..and her accident was about 50K in medical bills.
