How did you find putting the wings on? Did you trim the fender liner like Greenlane does or did you do something different? Getting ready to install and not sure how much to cut.

No pics, but I got the new shoes put on. BFG AT KO2s, and had the best Blizzack left mounted on a matching rim (4Skinner 7 pt stars) to replace the original spare (available, if anyone in the Denver metro area is interested). At 95,000 miles, the old Bilstein 5100s were leaking in back, so those got replaced, and we added Eibach 1" blocks to even the stance. Discovered 2 seized control arm bolts, when we went for the alignment, so all 4 got replaced, and there was slop on the driver's CV shaft, at the diff, so bye bye needle bearing for the sleeve, and a new half shaft. New alignment, and all is good, for a while.

Thinking seriously about yanking my roof rack, sliders and front bumper to get them all blasted and powder coated, since they are beginning to look a bit ratty.

I pretty much used the instructions the set up in the videos. The sander is really helpful. It took me several cuts/sandings to get to where it is. Probably 6, 7, 8?

    Thanks

I'm gonna change my oil this week. Gonna run about 5oz of seafoam through the crankcase for 500 miles, grab an OEM filter or 3 from my local dealer, and run some Mobile 1 in lieu of Pennzoil Platinum... We'll see if that makes any difference

    Sooooo...."Scrub Radius" is a thing.

    Start video at 3:30

I just learned/advised not to change offset more than 1 inch from the factory.

    Is this true?

This guy does great analysis and I'm leaning more towards 0 offset for my Tacoma.

Well at that point you will have changed 2 things and added another, so which one fixed it? or was it a combo of 2 or all 3??

Me? I would change the filter and see if it helps 1st... But as a great Reginal manager used to say, it's your money, your vehicle and your decision...
And no you can't go too wrong by doing all 3, but you will not truly know what the cause was...

If it wear me, I would run Marvel Mystery Oil through the crankcase, seafoam is better in the gas tank for injector cleaning...
But unless I was having any kind of build up or sludge from not changing my oil regularly, then I would not run a bottle of fix-it at all... too much of additives can cause build up/scaling of carbon deposits and do damage... My son for whatever reason decided to run fuel and oil additives in his Honda until a bit of scaling flaked off and pie cut a valve (broke off part of the valve)... His is a worst case scenario... lol
It was a good teaching tool on misfire diagnostics for him and well as a learning lesson on if some is good more is not always better.... Yeah I drug it out until I finally told him to get the compression gauge out... lol

Good looking truck. I like the way it matches up with the no parking red curb line.

Doesn't matter what fixes it at this point. I just need it to startup trouble free

Like I said I'm banking on the filter. I'll save it and cut it open

    Yes. It's true.

I have -25mm offset wheels and 265/75/16... If your tread pattern is aggressive enough you will get scrub radius rubbing.

-12mm seems to work great and sit just outside the stock flares.

Great video, and yes poking the tires out (well centerline of the wheel) on any vehicle off sets the geometry and loads the outer part of the wheel/hub bearing.. Yes, your hub bearing is a too row bearing and is designed to carry the weight of the vehicle over both and not just one.. Back when RWD's all ran tapered big and little wheel bearings, anytime someone ran an offset wheel (deep dish) on the front would kill the poor little outer wheel bearing, having a double row hub bearing with equal size bearings have helped greatly with that... But it is still hard on them.. Ever thought why the bearing dude on here probably never sold a bearing to a stock tire, wheel and suspension truck?? Mainly guessing on his sales numbers, but I have not seen many if any go bad from normal use unless high mileage... My brothers 2nd G has well over 200,000 miles with OEM bearings... BTW, offset can/will also damage ball joints...

Ever heard the old saying, if ya want to play, you got to pay....

Once IFS factory settings are disturbed, it effects it's intended purpose.

    Got it!
