The cab is low... I hit my head during the first couple of days of ownership.

BUT I Only did that once....

6'-1" here. No issues otherwise. It is impressively comfy - even on very long trips

Yes I would buy mine again. I’ve had 2 3rd Gens. My first was a 2019 Off Road. I kept it 4 years and put 250k trouble free miles on it - many of those in 4WD. I purchased my current Tacoma September 23. A 23 Pro. I currently have a little over 75k miles on it. (maybe closer to 80).

My wife and I are now empty nesters and she drives a 4 Runner. We own a horse and sheep farm. The pros for the truck are:

    trouble free

great capability on/off road in all conditions

tremendous maneuverability off road…and in cities

a comfortable truck, though certainly not luxurious

    cons

back when we had kids at home we always had larger SUVs (Suburban, high top conversion vans). This truck would have been too small to be our primary vehicle

luxury maybe an issue for D6691E48-B360-4807-8DDA-39E82E061053.jpg some, I’m a simple old horse guy so for me it’s great

the back seat is great for my German Shepherd, but other than her…

    I highly recommend this truck!

Im 5'11" and 185#. Absolutely zero issues getting in and out, and my truck is super comfy even on 8+ hour drives.

I dont understand why folks have issues in that department.

Yeah, I would... Loved mine until I gave it to my son. Looked at getting another 3rd gen, but the prices for used ones are crazy. I ended up getting a one owner 2nd gen and love it

Not much, just floorpads and mud guards.
I sure would buy it again. I have a 2017 TRD Off Road. I have so far put 79,000+ miles on it and I love it. I think Toyota is making a huge mistake by getting rid of the V6 in the Tacoma. I might have to go back to Nissan eventually.

I traded my ‘22 in for a ‘21 Tundra. I don’t regret the trade as the Tundra fits our family’s needs and wants better, but I loved my Third Gen and would own another if it ever were an option.

    Yes.

or even my old 1st gen raptor.
My toy right now is a macan s
I’d trade all of it for a clean tbss w a 408 and a procharger. I’d daily that sucker and use it more like a truck than this midget truck.

The LSX motors sound so much better than the 5.0 fords imo.

Your first response, which landed in my email, was awfully cute.

I test drove the 4th gen Tacoma multiple times before deciding on buying the 3rd gen. I actually bought mine recently last year in 2024. I own a 2023 TRD off-road premium in lunar rock. Would I buy it again, yes.

the 3rd gen is cheaper in price, but not in quality
There’s a ton of aftermarket support for it
A ton of secondhand parts on marketplace for it as well
It’s a reliable good looking truck.

I have to answer yes because I basically did. Had a 2017 Off Road, went through a 4Runner, then a GX and now back to a 2023 Sport. Couldn't resist, and I'm very happy with it

No, and I won't buy another Toyota. I can't stand the engine and auto transmission combo and tuning. Infotainment is a joke. Quality seems to be poor. I like the looks and ride is pretty good but that is about it.
2nd gen I had was way better and also felt roomier inside, but it was an old fashioned 2.7 with 5 speed. Was less comfortable than the 3rd gen.

I'd rather buy another 2nd gen than 3rd gen if I have to have one.

And there is another thing- they have gotten too expensive for what they are. When these trucks were $25K it was different. Now they are 30-40, which I think is too much what what we get...

    Just my 2 cents...

My 23' off road premium is the best truck I have ever owned, I've owned 6 different trucks I think. It is smooth and comfortable like a luxury car to me and has plenty of power to pull my travel trailer.

It has some minor shortcomings, all vehicles do.

Seats suck, plus the low cabin height. Both are very manageable with the power seat features my truck has.

The gear hunting was a bit of an issue for me until I started using the ECT system and S drive, basically shifting the truck myself when any hills are encountered.

The back seat sucks but I rarely have folks back there and when I have adults or kids back there it is just for short trips and we all adjust.

My only mistake was buying a long bed. It is very convenient for hauling stuff and when loaded up with the trailer but it is a bit much in todays tiny parking lots since it is also my around town vehicle. I have had to start backing into parking spaces, the 360 panoramic camera view makes that a lot easier.

Yup, I would buy a 3rd gen again.

Really? I am near your height and have absolutely plenty of room ('17 SR5) and am completely comfortable in mine. Did a previous owner add those seat riser spacer dealy bops to the front bolts of your seat?
