    Just bought some 265/70/17 wildpeak tires brand new. Noticed I was rubbing really bad. I then lifted it the same day 2 inches. Got it aligned and now it’s pulling right. Just wanted to get a second opinion because I was told it was due to my bushings being bad on my uca and lca. Is that true?

    Looks like you got a basic alignment (toe and go). Have you contacted the shop to ask why your camber and caster weren’t adjusted? When I took my Tacoma in for an alignment two years ago, I specifically requested 0 camber, 0.05 toe out, and the maximum caster they could achieve. It’s always important to ensure they make those adjustments during an alignment. That’s why I always recommend walking away from any shop that doesn’t provide a detailed printout of the results.

    Took it back today. He moved it a little more back apparently. It made it a little better but not perfect. He said he didn’t want to adjust it anymore because I will be rubbing. Do you suggest me taking it to another shop. Will altering the caster and camber fix it elsewhere?

    Honestly those specs are pretty good for a 2" lift with stock upper arms.

    It's an older truck, its likely the ball joints unhappy with the lift.

    You may have to live with it, or install aftermarket upper arms to get higher caster numbers.

    Wish I could say what it was. He just said he moved the tires back which now they rub when hitting dips at an angle. I’m not very happy because I asked for the new sheet of the alignment and he said the printer wasn’t working…

    There should be no rubbing whatsoever with 265s. It sounds like the shop decreased the caster at the LCA (pushing the wheel to the rear), rather than increasing it. You want more caster, not less.

    Probably try and get the caster up around 3. Making it greater on the passenger side might help with the drifting to the right, according to some people - my experience, though, is that it never helps.

    For optimal results, here’s what you can aim for when discussing alignment specs with the shop:

    • Camber: Between 0 and -1 degree of negative camber, depending on your preference. A slight negative camber can help counteract the Tacoma’s natural tendency to understeer.
    • Toe: Set toe to 0 to 0.05 degrees toe-out.
    • Caster: Aim for as close to 3 degrees of caster as possible. The shop should maximize caster on both sides, then adjust to ensure they’re equal. If the truck continues pulling to the right (as you mentioned), a slight increase in caster on the passenger side can help balance it out.
    Call the shop before you go and ask if they will work with you to match the speciation's you ask for. Some shops will huff and puff at this and others will have no issue. I actually take my truck to a performance shop here in CT that specializes in building and setting up drift cars. They have a rack and no problem matching my specs. Let us know how you make out!
